Wedding Party

Alfred Angelo

So I was picking up my dress the other night (YAY) and heard some gossip. Apparently since the economy down fall in 2009 a ton of bridal manufacturers had to lay off workers. Now the bridal industry is booming again and they are behind.

My bridal shop said that they received a letter from Alfred Angelo which could no longer process "Rush orders" until further notice. Alfred Angelo is HUGE and they can't process rush orders! Just wanted to tell anyone on this board. Hopefully it is just my state or something but keep that in mind when planning your ordering timeline.

Re: Alfred Angelo

  • That's weird.  I thought the wedding industry was recession-proof.

  • So did I until I started planning. My vendors actually told me that I was lucky to get the 2009 pricing. Apparently a lot of couples had put off their wedding until 2010 because they needed to save more money. Vendors in my area lowered their prices in 2009 just trying to bring in business. I got my photographer for $2000 less than his 2010 pricing. January 1st he went up $2000 on my package! Crazy huh?

  • That is crazy!  It figures that people would put off their weddings rather than scale things back.  :P

uuuuugh. I wish CT had cheaper 2009 prices. I'm locked in with 2010 prices with most of my vendors, which is nice.
  • I got married in 2009 so I got those prices. Yeah!

    Wow, can't believe AA though.
