Bridesmaid Dress Dilemma

Hello everyone! I am new to posting, but I am having a difficult time making a decision on a bridesmaid dress and would appreciate any help! Please take a look at the dresses and let me know which you think looks the best!

Dessy style # 2762, shown in color I like

Or, Aria Dresses---I like the first 3 in the top row

I'm having a difficult time narrowing down a color I like in the Aria dresses...I was trying to go for a more neutral color, and then have my flowers pop with vibrant color, but I'm not so wild about some of the Aria dress neutrals. Originally, I thought I would go with a grey/slate dress and then some bright yellow and green flowers, but now I don't know.

Any help you can give this indecisive bride to be would be great!

I like the idea of slate grey with green or yellow flowers. I think it would be pretty. I'm not a fashion person, so I won't comment on the styles.

I do want to suggest, however, that you would get more useful advice from your BMs, who will actually be wearing the dress, than strangers in the internet. We can help you with what looks good in theory, but only you and your girls can conceptualize what this will look like on them.

Also, and you may have done this already, but please talk to each of your BMs individually about what their budget is. This can help you pick a dress in everyone's budget. Truthfully, the budget and dtyle talk with your BMs will probably be way more helpful in picking your dress than we will be, but I have to say I really do like the slate color.

  • Before you even decide that these are your dresses, ask your bridesmaids what they can afford. Nothing is worse than a bride who is trying to get her friends to go over their own budgets for a dress they'll wear once. Also, ask them if THEY like those dresses as well. You don't want them unhappy in the dress, right? To be honest, I don't really like any of those dresses....the Aria ones because of the colors, but the dessy one because I used t work in a bridal shop that sells dessy and all their dresses hit me in the wrong place. • My personal style - I like the Dessy dress. However, the previous posters are correct. You should see what your BMs like and what looks good on them since they are the ones paying and wearing. What I like and what looks good on a 5'10" size 2 model may not work for your girls.

If you're stuck on 2 dresses that are both within the BM's budgets and they are being indecisive, I'd just go with the less expensive one.
  • Have your BMs try these things on. Things can look awesome on the Internet but crappy on a real girl's body. And vice versa.

And ditto PPs about asking each girl about her budget, in private and individually, BEFORE you narrow down the dress search. If you haven't already.

For what it's worth, I like the Dessy one better. But I don't have to buy it or wear it, so ask your BMs.

  • I definitely like the Dessy dress better, but that doesn't mean it would look best on your BMs.  Have them try stuff on and see if the same dress works for all of them- it might not.  You can also give them several coordinating options with different necklines and waistlines so they can find something to suit their body, or give them the option of any cocktail length Dessy dress in Pebble Beach.

For the Aria dresses, I like their Eucalyptus and Charcoal for neutral grays.
  • I'm having the exact same delimma. I've found nice shades of gunmetal, charcoal, silver, graphite etc. in so many different places, but Aria is the only one that can do any of their dresses, in any fabric, with the cutest styles, in a half decent price range. Unfortunately, their gray tones suck. Slate fabric swatch appears green. The silver one is TOO silver (like a robot) and the charcoal is almost black. I'm looking at Dessy too, but now i have to go to a store to do it. I feel your pain!
  • Have the BMs try it on.  I had a color and dress style chosen but when the girls tried it on it looked awful and we went with something completely different.  In fact our entire color scheme changed as a result.

Make sure these dresses are in the BMs' price range if you haven't already.
