The suspense is killing me!

Seriously...waiting for my SS gift is not fun any more!  I want it now now now! :)  I'm fairly sure that our mail counter knows this and is therefore playing tricks on me.  Every day this week there has been a package on the mail counter, and I get all excited when I walk around the corner and see it and then I'm like BOOO it's not for me.

How about everyone else?  Are you anxiously awaiting the arrival of your gift?  Is your mail counter playing tricks on you?

Re: The suspense is killing me!

  • Yes!  I want to know who had me!! lol  I'm not good at this patience thing around the holidays.  Plus, the mail always takes forever to get here (seriously, our photographer mailed out our pictures the same day he sent them to his couple in Arizona.  Guess who got their pictures first?!)  I suspect our mailperson hates me. :(

  • I'm not even playing, and still I can't wait for the reveal - I want to know who had who and what everyone got!
  • What makes it all 10 times harder for me is that since I'm the one that created the group, I can go in and look and see who had who, but I haven't!  It has been seriously hard for me not to look.

  • Don't do it, fro!  Resist the temptation!!

  • It's been seriously hard not to look, but I've made it this long, so I think I'll be able to make it. :)

I know I'm probably just being super paranoid, but now I'm worried my gift is lost in our mail room since it doesn't have my full last name on it.  Even though it has my correct address, I'm afraid they'll be all "what the what?  Who is this person?"

So anyway, SS, if you are out there, reading this, do you have a tracking number?  Do you know if my gift has been delievered?  Can you let me know on Elfster if it has?
Like I said, I'm bad at being patient. :)

  • Mine's been mailed and no I can't wait to see who drew me.  I'm a little nervous though because the manager at the store where I'm at told me yesterday that delivery people sometimes miss our address.

  • I don't know...I think we decided on touching base in the new year to see if everyone had received their gifts.  That's also when we thought Brooke was going to GBCK until after the new year, so now I don't really know.

I say if Brooke sticks around, that we should all touch base maybe next week or the week after to see if we've all gotten our gifts and then plan the reveal.

  • I also thought we wanted to touch base with Kathryn because she's out of the country, right?

  • I saw on Elfster that Kathryn sent a Thank You to her SS so I thought maybe she had gotten her gift.  Maybe it was a pre-thank you.

  • I thought we were talking about Jan 1?

I'm really excited for the local presents too!  I'm really curious to hear who sent what kinds of things from where. :)

  • I wish I could've sent food....but NYC is not known for its fudge.....it's known for its pizza, hot dogs, and pastrami sandwiches, none of which travel well.

Yeah.  Philly Cheese Steaks weren't going to work here.

  • I haven't gotten any kind of confirmation that my gifts were received at this point, so I'm going nuts like "I did copy the address right ... right?".

  • I got mine today! I'm super-excited and can't wait to use them!
  • I take it back...the mail counter did not play a trick on me just now...there was a package for me. :)

  • Hi ladies! We're back up and running with the internets at the house now. Yay!

I think I messed up.... were we supposed to put our name on the gift, or not? Because I did. And now I'm thinking I maybe wasn't supposed to. Embarassed
  • Okay, good to know - my sender also put her name on it.
  • Frogurt, I do! After we got the keys to the place and unloaded the car, I dropped Kevin off at work, went to pick up cat essentials, and then went straight to the cattery. Olive has settled in okay, although she was a bit skittish for a bit.

Her mom Abby has been working out what I can only assume are some space issues she seems to have developed while in prison. She would hiss A LOT more at Olive than she ever used to if Olive gets in her space, although that itself has gone down so much in the two weeks we've been here and she's become a lot more relaxed. She now follows me around almost as much as she used to, and she's gone back to spending the night on the bed with the three of us like she used to. We're a little family again :^) Thanks for asking :^)
  • Aw!  I'm so glad you have your kitties back and that they seem to be adjusting well!  Our two cats sleep on the bed with us every night, so I know how you feel. :)

  • Yeah my GBCK didn't really happen, but I had a couple other reasons for suggesting we wait until Jan 1: It makes sure everyone had time to get them; lots of people clear out for the holidays (DH and I will be gone next week and w/o regular internet but back after Christmas, I presume we won't be the only ones).  But if everyone wants to move it up, don't let me be the roadblock.  I was just sayin' is all.
