MOH & Sister

So I only have one sibling, a younger sister. She definitely expects to be my MOH, saying that since she's my only sister she has to be. The problem is that while I love her and we are pretty close, she is the most irresponsible person ever. 

I would rather ask one of my friends (whom I've only known for about three or four years) instead. Is that terrible of me? I know I don't have to pick my sister just because she's my sister but I know she will be really hurt. On the other hand, I don't want her performing traditional MOH duties but I would feel uncomfortable letting her have the title and asking someone else to do the work. 

Any advice?

The only responsibilities your MOH has is to buy the dress, show up, maybe sign the marriage certificate, maybe hold your flowers, and maybe help with your train during the ceremony.  Everything else is optional and offered by the MOH.

That being said, why can't you have two MOHs?

What exactly do you mean by "traditional MOH duties"? Her only "duties" are to buy a dress and to wear it. If she cannot do this, you have bigger problems.

Ditto PPs, but also be aware that since you're wedding is in April 2015 (that is correct, right?) you should wait before asking anyone to be in your WP.

You should not select WP members by what you think they can do for you.  The person who is your closest friend should be your MOH.  WP is a way to honor special friends, not a method of ensuring free labor.

my sister is my MOH, the reason why I asked her is because it was important to me to have my sister there. She is very irresponsible, doesn't have money to plan pre-wedding parties, or any of the "traditional" stuff the movies make us think is necessary for your MOH to do. I feel that as my sister it was a way to honor how much I love her by asking her to be such an important part of wedding. All I am asking of anyone in my WP to do is show up in their dress, not be hung over/drunk lol (I have alot of shy girls lol) and have a good time! 2 of my BM's offered to help with putting stuff together the day before which I am so thankful for their help but I never made it a "duty".
