Ask any knottie on WP a question(feel free to answer if asked): Tide -- I remember vaguely that Taryn's middle name was going to be something else (although I can't remember what). What inspired the change, if you don't mind my asking?

    Favorite classic movie: Casablanca.

Favorite beer: I don't drink beer, but I love Woodchuck Cider.

A place that you would NEVER visit: I hate anyplace hot and humid, so probably anywhere on the line of the equator. I don't do well in humidity.

Stina--what prompted the WPBP of the day? I don't think I was around when these got started.

    Favorite classic movie:
Any of the Disney classics for sure. Other than that usually what I consider a classic isn't so I don't know what qualifies.

    Favorite beer:
Not really a big beer fan, but I prefer lagers. There is a mexican beer I really like too. Land Shark isn't bad, but it's expensive.

A place that you would NEVER visit:
Any country where women are forced to cover all of their skin, walk three feet behind a man, and get beaten for any and every reason a man can think up just to get his kicks.

Favorite classic movie: Singin' in the Rain or West Side Story depending on my mood.
Favorite beer: I hate beer unless it's Lindemans. I love cherry beer, and I have to support my Belgian roots.
A place that you would NEVER visit: As of right now, Antarctica. I hate cold weather. I'd love to go anywhere warm, but prefer low humidity.

Not much, thankfully!!! Just finalized the RD menu last night and sent out the info to those who need it...have to talk with my photographer to get our ducks in a row in terms of what will be happening when and our general timeline for the day (we get him + an assistant for 10 hours of shooting)...I have little things to finish up such as assembling our programs and getting the supplies for our Wishes & Predictions bowl (in lieu of a traditional guest book we're asking guests to write their well wishes / advice / predictions / whatever on slips of paper that they'll put into a bowl or jar of some sort...later on, I'll put the notes into an album or scrapbook.) Need to go buy the jar and paper - I'm thinking those detachable blank business cards from like an Office Max or Staples would work...

My shower was this past wknd (amazing!!!) and my bach party is next wknd. The in-laws are arriving in Connecticut a week before the wedding so getting ready for their arrival...I want to pack for the HM so I can just put my suitcase aside and be done with that in the next week or so, too...we're going to Santorini, Greece for a week and then Rome for a week. (Hoping the situation in Greece de-escalates over the next couple of weeks with their economic meltdown and public transit workers striking....) Eek....

I'm getting very excited!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for asking!

I just asked DH because I was lost for an answer....but my grandma and grandpa were shiit faced at the reception. During the mother son dance, they started dancing together and our DOC asked them to sit down. This led to an hour and a half pouting fit in the car for my grandpa. He left my grandma alone in the reception to fend for herself and my dad missed half the hora because he was outside trying to convince my grandpa to come back inside. Yes, it's not really something we could control, but we might have just let my grandparents dance....

This is funny. I already hated working there, but then they sent out a "sexual harrassment test" through email that had to be completed. They were not going to pay me for my time on it. I felt like it was a waste of time and I should be getting paid for the hour plus time it took to finish it. Then I thought "wait a minute, what I am doing here?! I am here to act." And then I talked about waiting tables to DH and he said, "we have the money, and people who wait tables and audition are exhausted....just quit and audition." I am truly lucky.

Let me preface this by saying that I LOVE my photos. But the only time all day that I didn't enjoy myself was during formal photos. It was just really stressful (the best man didn't help by making it very clear he didn't want to be there), and I felt like our photographers weren't very organized about it (not totally their fault, WPs don't exist in Chile). I would have sat down and figured out the exact shots we wanted beyond just "us plus these people, family first and then WP". I think if we'd had the poses in mind, it would have gone smoother and not left me feeling like it was 10 minutes of total clusterfuck. Like I said, the results are good, but I think we would have had more formal photos and less stress if we'd had it all planned out.

When I was a little kid we went to the San Diego Zoo. There was a line to ride elephants, and a line to ride camels. So, you don't have to go to the desert, and you can still get the camel ride, with some good weather, a nice beach, and other fun activities! -HM maybe?!-

Favorite classic movie: Breakfast at Tiffany's or Roman Holiday. Oooh...I also LOVE It's a Wonderful Life.

Favorite beer: Lame...I usually just drink Bud Light, but I do like Spaten Oktoberfest. I'm more of a wine person, I only drink beer in bars---thus why I go with the cheap option.

A place that you would NEVER visit: I feel like I would go pretty much anywhere if I had the opportunity...but I'd probably stay away from the Middle East.

    No problem :)

Originally, it was going to be Taryn Avonelle, but as we thought about it, it was too wordy and didn't really "go" with out last name. I had suggested a middle name of "Irene" (after my maternal grandmother), early on, but DH didn't like it because it was an "old person's" name.

When we started talking about it again, we were looking at names/spellings/meanings, and decided to go with the original greek spelling, Eirene (after the greek goddess of peace). It's pronounced Eh-rheen, so it's a little softer and rolls off the tounge, and as I found out from my aunt, is closer to how my grandmother actually pronounced it. When she immigrated from Hungary, they spelled it with an "I" but that's not how it was meant to be spelled, and it apparently, always bugged her that people mispronounced her name.

I didn't realize this until after she was born, but Taryn = "of the earth," Eirene = "peace" and she was born during the Christmas season, so there you have it: peace on Earth :)
Holy Crap. We survived the first year!

Yes, let's work on this. I may just need to join in my subconscious. It was strange--there were actually two or three nights in a row I had dreams about different ladies on the boards. And since I don't post too terribly much, I didn't want to come on the boards and page someone with "I had a dream about you!" so I'd totally feel like a creeper.

And Tide, I love how you got Taryn's middle name. That's beautiful :-)

    Posted by rainedrop6[/QUOTE]

    Nope, haven't answered.

I like *some* tattoos. I had tossed around the idea for another tattoo for a long time. I wanted something that I felt represented me and my personality. I had a shirt, and a hat with crossed pistols and just always seemed to be drawn to that design whenever I saw it on anything. I was talking to my "PIC" (Partner in Crime-- BFF) about how we should go get tattoos when she came to visit last summer. We discussed getting something to represent our 14 years of friendship but that it did not have to be the same. When I decided on the guns, she loved it. We went together and got them, hers is on her right backside of her hip. I figured the PIC could easily be covered with flowers or something if we were no longer friends in the future. Both handles have "A" in them, she is Amanda, I am Angela. So again, if we "broke up" it still is my initial. Blue is my favorite color, so I am the blue handled gun, pink is hers. And my foot, I figured it could be covered, or shown off without a "hey, look at me! I have a tattoo".

I do like wine coolers and mixed drinks - anything that doesn't taste like alcohol. Can't drink much though because it makes me fall asleep. In college I loved going out and dancing. I haven't made girlfriends here yet (moved here to be with FI a few months ago), so my social circle is limited to his med school friends. We go to a lot of med school dinners at people's houses. I didn't have time to do anything in grad school, so I've really been enjoying just staying in watching movies.
