What was your allowance when you were little? I didn't get allowance, my parents would just give me money when I needed it (obviously not unlimited money!).

First album/cd you ever bought on your own: Mariah Carey's "Daydream"

How often were you grounded? Never

Did you have an age at which you were allowed to start dating? If so, how old? I had my first boyfriend when I was 14. He went to my church, and my family had known his family since we were 9, so I'm not sure if that made it ok at a younger age.

Did you go to prom? What was the theme? I did, both junior and senior prom. No clue what the theme was though...I actually can't remember if we had a theme for prom or just for winter formal.

How often were you grounded? Twice when I was a senior in high school, but that was it.

Did you have an age at which you were allowed to start dating? If so, how old? Sixteen.

Did you go to prom? What was the theme? Yup, two junior proms and two senior proms.  The junior prom themes were "A Night To Remember" and "Tuscany Romance" (that one was the boys' school in our area).  The senior proms didn't have themes.

How often were you grounded? - I was probably severly grounded about once a year. Usually for something completely stupid.

Did you go to prom? What was the theme? - Some sort of Garden Rose theme. Fun fact: my date and best friend decided to start dating two weeks before the prom. BFF tried telling me that I could go with her ex (who she left for my prom date) and date tried saying he'd still go with me. I called BS and even if he went with me he would have spent the whole night with her. So I took one of our junior friends (girl) because only seniors could go, unless that person was going with a senior, and all of our friends were going but her. I had a blast!

Oh and BFF wore a big white poofy dress and somehow in all prom photos ended up in the middle so all of my prom pics look like WP photos. I should use them as an example of how mismatched WP attire could totally work.

What was your allowance when you were little? Pretty much whatever I needed within reason, I just had to ask.

First album/cd you ever bought on your own: I really have no idea at this point, but I'm sure it was something like 311.

 

How often were you grounded? Not very. I was the good child .

Did you have an age at which you were allowed to start dating? If so, how old? There wasn't a specific age, but I didn't really date anyone seriously until after I was out of high school. Otherwise I went on group dates so my parents just thought I was hanging out with a group of friends.

Did you go to prom? Yes What was the theme? No idea.

What was your allowance when you were little? None.  My mom gave us lunch money, and that was about it.  Or if we were going to the movies with friends, etc, she'd give us money.

How often were you grounded? Never.  I was a good kid, and even if I would've done something worth being grounded over, the only things I really did were go to school, go to work, or go to a school related activity (cheerleading, band, color guard) so there really wasn't anything to ground me from.

Did you have an age at which you were allowed to start dating? If so, how old? I don't think my mom ever gave a specific age.  I think I had my first real boyfriend when I was maybe 15 or 16.

Did you go to prom? What was the theme? Yes.  I went my junior year, senior year, and then the year after I graduated because my bf at the time was still in HS.  I have no clue what any of the themes were.

What was your allowance when you were little?  I don't remember.  We got a dollar or two every week maybe?  When I was a teenager I just did a lot around the house *without being asked* and then they'd just buy things when I wanted or needed them.  That probably sounds brattier than it was, but I never asked for a lot and helped out more than I believe most kids do.  DH didn't have any chores as a kid... except setting the table.  You can see I have my work cut out for me.
First album/cd you ever bought on your own:  Tragic Kingdom by No Doubt.  
How often were you grounded?  Never.  I was the perfect child.  I think my mom wouldn't let me go to a concert once, but I just couldn't go that one place - so not really grounded.
Did you have an age at which you were allowed to start dating? If so, how old?  It was never an actual rule, but I didn't ask if I go on a date until 16.  I had a boyfriend in eighth grade where we hung out around our friends, so that was never really an issue.  
Did you go to prom? What was the theme?  Yep, both years.  We had prom and afterglow (like an all-night party put on by the parents.  It was awesome.  They completely transformed our school!) One year the prom theme was Paris and one year it was something movie-related - red carpet, etc.  Then for afterglow - one year the theme was Under the Sea and one year it was Mardi Gras.

What was your allowance when you were little? We got one dollar for every grade level we were in school. So when I was in first grade it was $1, second grade $2, etc. all the way through 12th grade.

How often were you grounded? Not incredibly often but I had my fair share of groundings. I tried to be good, but I had a mouth...

Did you have an age at which you were allowed to start dating? If so, how old? 16, but I somehow acquired a boyfriend at 15 1/2. Not that it was a significant relationship or anything, but still.

Did you go to prom? What was the theme? Yes. I think it was 007 because I was an '07 graduate. I'm pretty sure every high school in the country did the exact same thing.

How often were you grounded? Probably more often than I remember, but it never stuck...my mom worked 85 hrs a week and was barely home so punishment was pretty moot.
Did you have an age at which you were allowed to start dating? If so, how old? I wasn't really "allowed" to date, due to my not-so-awesome grades, but I did have boyfriends in high school...one from the beginning of 10th grade til the end of 11th...I think my mom acquiesced to letting me date him because we met in church and went to different schools...
Did you go to prom? What was the theme? I went my senior year, with FI, who'd already graduated but promised he'd take me The theme was "Under The Sea" and reminded me very much of Back to the Future haha...we spent the night sucking helium out of the balloons and talking because it was really boring.

No allowance.  I started babysitting at 11.  Not that I got to have fun with the money.  Except for Christmas, that's when my parents decided I could start buying my own clothes.

Never.  Between sports year round (and a Catholic school that required 2nd honors of their athletes) and babysitting nearly every Friday and Saturday night there just wasn't time to get into trouble.

What was your allowance when you were little? It varied with the chores I did and how often I did them, I don't remember the exact amount though.

Did you go to prom? What was the theme? I went to prom twice- first had a Hollywood theme, second had a Paradise Island theme

What was your allowance when you were little? I didn't have one.  

First album/cd you ever bought on your own: U2's greatest hits. I still have it although it is in terrible shape.

How often were you grounded? Hardly ever. I was a good kid. I got grounded maybe twice, if that.

Did you have an age at which you were allowed to start dating? If so, how old? Not really. I didn't really date anybody until I got into college. My siblings and I were allowed to date in high school.

Did you go to prom? What was the theme? I went my senior year. The theme? I dunno. Christmas lights crappily strung and wadded up tissue paper? Is that a theme?

How often were you grounded? grounding wasn't a punishment my parents used.

What was your allowance when you were little? $5-7 in HS because I wasn't allowed to work during the school year.  And my grandpa liked to give us 'pocket money' when he visited, the amount got a little higher as we got older.  So I generally had $5-10/week in spending money overall.

First album/cd you ever bought on your own: Probably spice girls in elementary school, on tape.  No idea which of my CDs was the first I bought.

How often were you grounded? Never.  My parents didn't ground us.

Did you have an age at which you were allowed to start dating? If so, how old? 16 for going out on dates that weren't double/group dates, apparently.  My sister and I didn't learn this until we were 18 and 21, even though we started dating at 14 and 15.  DH wasn't allowed to date when we started dating, so they never had an issue with it for me, and my sister's boyfriend went to our school and they didn't go on dates much.

Did you go to prom? Yes What was the theme?
My junior prom, DH's junior ring dance and DH's senior prom - no idea.
My senior prom - juniors and seniors on the prom committee were in disagreement over french riviera vs. paris.  Technically seniors should have had the final decision because it was the senior prom to which the seniors invited the entire junior class, but the teachers didn't allow that. 

The result was a quickly thrown together combined mash of french riviera and paris with the gold cardboard stars the school must have bought by the millions, because I'm pretty sure they've been using the same type of stars to decorate every dance from when I was in 7th grade to present, regardless of theme.

What was your allowance when you were little?  My parents did $1/week with me when I was around 5, but after that they stopped doing allowance.

First album/cd you ever bought on your own:  Ace of Base, Ace of Base.

How often were you grounded?  Never.  I lost my internet privileges a couple of times though.

Did you have an age at which you were allowed to start dating? If so, how old?  The age was supposed to be sixteen.  At thirteen my sister pushed the issue on that one and was allowed to date.  So I got to date at fifteen.

Did you go to prom? What was the theme?  Yes.  I think it was some kind of tropical theme based on the leis and the terrible tropical background of my prom picture.

What was your allowance when you were little?  Don't remember, but it wasn't much.  I do recall being bribed with a nickel every time I took a dose of some really awful medication, which I saved up and used to buy a paper doll.

First album/cd you ever bought on your own:  Something by Matchbox 20.  I remember buying it from WalMart along with the 4th Harry Potter book.

How often were you grounded?  Frequently.  It rarely stuck, though.

Did you have an age at which you were allowed to start dating? If so, how old?  It never came up, because I wasn't really interested in dating until I was 16, and even then not much.

Did you go to prom? What was the theme?  I went senior year, but I don't remember the theme.  It was pretty lame, though.  I've never been big on dances.
