Copper Bridesmaid / Bridesmen stuff

I'm having trouble finding dresses and vests in copper. Our wedding is going to be copper with cranberry. Help with finding such things would be incredible. Also I want these copper things to be shiny. If it doesn't shine, it isn't copper. :3 I don't insist on the name of the color being copper, so if you have something in mind that looks like it, but is under a different name, I'd still like to hear about it. ^_^

Also I know these aren't common wedding colors, but I think they'll be beautiful. And they both mean something to us.

Hrrrr! I wish The Knot had better color choices. I feel like a kid with a coloring book who was handed one of those 4 packs of crayons. Insufficient colors for creating what I want. D:

  • Here are two links of some dresses that may meet your color requirement...

    http://watters.com/Product/WtooDresses/442/

And Mens Warehouse has a vest color called Bella Luna Cognac that might fit in with your color scheme as well.

  • Have you considered looking at a bronzy brown?  I know it's not copper, but it would widen your selection.  There's a lot of stores that have a taffetta in a more bronze color, so I would at least try to consider that.

If not, your best bet is probably going to be to find the fabric you want and have a seamstress make them if you're going to be so particular on color.  Because even if you find a copper dress, you're going to have a hard time choosing from a limited selection of dresses.
  • You might also consider doing the dresses in cranberry and give them copper sashes/shrugs, or try to find coppery flowers.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

Have you given any thought to how all of this shiny material will photograph?  Maybe do as PPs suggested and do cranberry dresses with copper accents.  What jewelry, if any, will go with your copper look?
  • A whole dress in a shiny material will not look good in photographs...I have seen it...I would go with cranberry dresses and copper sash or jewelery . Also I think they BM will like it better and even wear the dress again...you will have much better selections in fabric also
  • Thank you for all the replies. I didn't mean a really shiny material, I meant more like a semi-shiny satin. Like this. <3http://www.milanoo.com/Chocolate-Sweetheart-Satin-Floor-Length-Womens-Bridesmaid-Dress-p101670.html
And yes, I would settle for that as copper. lol Actually, why don't I just order a swatch of that and see how it is? If that would work, my bridesmaids could all pick out their own style of dress, which I would absolutely love!

My vision was copper dresses and cranberry shoes and bouquets. :o Not sure about jewelry yet.

Do you really think they would hate having a satin dress like that? I just really love how copper looks against a cream colored dress, which is what I'm getting. http://pinterest.com/pin/152770612330246024/
