Wedding Party

*Stage (and other nerds too)*

We got ourselves the red Wii bundle for Christmas. It arrived Tuesday, but we finally got it set up this morning. It's pretty boss, you should totally get one. It also comes with the red Wiimote and Nunchuck. DH figured that I would be spending all day playing, but I think I'm going to have a hard time prying him away...

• Ooh, I'm so excited for you! DH and I have had the [white] Wii for a while now, and we love it. We actually get a big kick out of the "download" feature where you can get the older Nintendo games for like $5.00 ... including Pokemon Snap-which I feel the need to advertise, since I really don't know anybody who doesn't like Pokemon Snap, lol.

• I just want to get that dancing game for the Wii we have. I'm so excited.

• He loves golfing, and I think he's going to get addicted to the Wii Sports golf pretty quickly. I can't wait to get going on Epic Mickey, but we want to get things accomplished today before we get sucked in.

We don't have Mii sharing set up yet, but we should totally trade info so all our WP Miis can visit each other.

• I saw the new red one out at Game Stop. We have the white one and enjoy playing it. We need to buy some more games for it, though.
• Ooh I love the Wii. We just have a white one though since no colors were out yet when we got it. H has turned one of the spare bedrooms into his "man zone" and has all of the gaming systems up there but I made him put the Wii in the living room since that's the only one I play.

I love the game show games. I have Wheel of Fortune, Price is Right, Press Your Luck, and Family Feud. I also just bought Wipe Out which is fun. I had an impulse buy the other day and bought Tetriis, but I think I want to return it for Just Dance 2, since that looks really fun and will get my fatass up off the couch.

Oh, and don't buy Super Mario Brothers unless you have a rock solid marriage. Honestly, I can see that game leading to divorce.

Ditto DNB on the super mario brothers. That game is so hard. We've got the white one. Lucas loves Super Mario Galaxy, I'm not coordinated enought for it. I also have depth perception problems so if the cameras at a weird angle I have problems getting Mario to go where I want.

Aerin - I want Epic Mickey. It looks like so much fun. Although I did read the other day that the reviews for the camera angles and such* aren't that great. Sometimes he ends up off screen or agains a black hole that you can't tell if you're going to fall. I still want to try it though.

We're huge fans of Animal Crossing too. If anyone else has it we can visit each other's towns. Oh yeah, and Mario Kart. You can hook up wirelessly and play with others in different places. Soooo fun!

Edited: such, not suck

• Oh no, the red one shipped with SMB... I beat the shiit out of him in boxing with no hard feelings, so hopefully it won't be too awful. I bought him the collector's edition of Goldeneye with the gold classic controller as a reward for going clothes/shoe shopping with me, he's playing that now.

MK, that's the biggest complaint I've heard about Epic Mickey. I've played games with bad cameras before, (we had a running joke of not being able to figure out who's the bigger douche in God of War 3, Kratos or the camera), so we'll see how it compares. Who knows, they might release a patch that fixes that. That's one of the glorious things about consoles going online.

• Yeah, hopefully with all of the complaints they'll be able to do something.

I think by myself I've only made it partway through worl 2 in SMB. Lucas has probably made it to world 5. We played together once and it was actually pretty hilarious. Except he then got frustrated because I kept dying. If you look up online, there's a way to go back to world one, and I think it's in the second board, you can keep getting a bunch of new lives. So that's great, but I eventually ran out of all of the fun items you collect. So while I can get unlimited lives, I'm still tiny and can't do much. SMB Fail.

• We beat the game, and then had to go back to each world to collect the coins so that we could unlock World 9. We haven't finished World 9 yet and just get too frustrated.

Aerin its not anything with beating eachother, you play together and end up killing eachother's characters constantly when you jump on them, or you end up stealing their mushroom on accident. Then one will die and be in a bubble and you're screaming to the other one "don't die, don't move, I'm in a bubble, pop me." Then when he dies you scream "I told you not to die!" With 2 people its not too horrible, but if you ever play with 3 or 4 its near impossible since you're all trying to move and go at once. It is fun though!

• Oh, jeez, the Super Mario game? DH and I have played it together and I can see how that game can easily end friendships and marriages, lol.

Even Cracked seems to think so:

• I give up too easily sometimes. I prefer puzzle games and games like Tetris. Dr. Mario is one of my favorites too. We downloaded that on the Wii. I get stuck and never go back to games, or I'll start all over again at the beginning because I know I can beat those levels. Laughing

• I'll have to keep that in mind about SMB. In the meantime, OMG EPIC MICKEY. The camera is indeed annoying, but not game breaking. But the game design is just mind-blowing. If you love Disneyland and are a little twisted, it's an absolute must-have.

• I rented Jeopardy and Just Dance 2 today so I can try them out before buying them. I need to do that more often, and I'm glad I did because I don't like Jeopardy. I'm excited to try Just Dance, but will wait until tomorrow since I just got a massage today and I want to enjoy that.

I saw Epic Mickey at Blockbuster but didn't know what it was. What do you do in it?

• It's sort of an adventure/puzzle platformer. Mickey gets sucked into this sort of twisted version of Disneyland armed with a magic paintbrush, and can either use paint to restore things and make enemies friendly, or thinner to eliminate them. It basically works as a karma system, but not a subjective one like good/evil, an idea which I LOVE. That means multiple playthroughs to unlock everything, but I don't think I'm going to mind.

That sounds pretty awesome. I just might have to rent that one when I return these ones. I'm going to try and force myself to rent all games before i buy them now, since I've bought too many games that I end up hating.
imageBabyFruit Ticker
• That's awesome Aerin. It's on our Christmas list, so hopefully we'll get it. That's a good thought DNB. We should probably do that too. There are so many games out there now it's crazy.
image
• Yeah, its not always worth it since the games aren't cheap to rent. Normally they are like $9 at blockbuster, but right now they are 2 for $15 so I got both. If its a $20 game I'd rather just buy it, but for the $30-50 its better to rent it first. For example, Wii Music. Biggest waste of $50 when it first came out. I gave it to my little cousins.

• Yeah, we did buy Lucas's nephew a monster truck racing game that was $14.00 at k-mart. He loved it, so the $14.00 was worth it. It is hard to swallow spending $50.00 for a new game so we usually wait a little while to see if it drops any. I think the one game I truly didn't enjoy was Mario Vs. Sonic Olympics (the summer one, not the winter one). That was so freaking hard. It was impossible to do anything. We gave up. Luckily that was one we rented and didn't buy.

Anyway, I'm off to bed. Talk to you all later!

• I get to have my Epic Mickey on Tuesday-I'm so excited!

We pre-ordered it at GameStop pretty much as soon as they were accepting them. We've had the game paid in full for a while, but we haven't had time to get it yet, between work and the holidays. So we're picking it up with our WoW expansions.

• Aw I'm sad that I'm late to this thread. FI and I had a great time beating Super Mario on the wii together. (Though I definitely can see how it could hurt your relationship if you don't take well to your SO killing you. There were a couple of times when we thought it would be funny to knock each other off of ledges or throw the other into lava. We're weird like that.)

I agree that playing with more than two people is rough. We had 4 going once and one person kept running ahead and killing everyone else. :(

[QUOTE]Just logged on for a bit and saw this. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO jealous. We delivered one to one of our RTO customers last night and the delivery guy brought the box back to my store to use as a display. I now officially want one more than ever. And, Epic Mickey? Um, yes please. Like Kingdom Hearts, but even better from the previews and reviews. That will be my first actual game purchase, once I'm single again. Because, yes, SMB will likely be the end of DH and I. But what a way to go, right?
