Re: Secret Santa

  • I vote waiting until the SS date to reveal the actual people--I haven't gotten mine yet and kinda don't want the surprise ruined by process of elimination.  I do think it would be fine to post, "I just got mine--thank you Santa!" or something like that so the sender knows it was received and the person can get it out.  Does that make sense?

  • I'm with Brooke...my sending out will probably be at the absolute last minute, so I'd hate for the fun to be spoiled :)
  • I;m another one for Brooke, although once I get mine, I might be thinking "OH God, I wanna say something on WP SO BAD!"

Yeah, that's so going to be me. And I'm bad with keeping secrets, so while I can stop myself from posting, I know if we were all a group of people that met IRL on  a regular basis, I'd be the one to blurt out "Banana was my SS!" after about 2 seconds.

As it is, I've had a hard enough time not admitting who I drew. Whenever the topic's come up and I see my draw post, I've wanted to just say "It's me! I'm the one that drew you! I'm sending you a gift! ZOMG!!!!ELEVENTY!!1!!!11!!". I am such a spaz when it comes to surprising people, lol

  • Agree with Meg - I've definitely watched my SS more closely and have a hard time adding something to a general conversation like "oh, so tell me more about this hobby / interest of yours.... for no real reason."
  • I'm with Brooke.  I haven't received mine yet and my mind will automatically be doing a process of elimination if we post along the way.

  • I believe the reveal date is after we all know that everyone has received theirs.

  • I think we were putting it off at Brooke's request until after her TGBCK, but she hasn't disappeared yet.  The deadline to ship is Monday, right?  So maybe we can say next Thursday or Friday?

This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Too soon.  Sometimes packages take a week or more to get to their destination.  I think we have two packages crossing the Atlantic also which may take longer.  I think we said 01/01/2011.

  • Yeah the TGBCK doesn't seem to be happening.  No one's more surprised than me.

  • If we're doing the reveal on 01/01/11, just a fair warning, I'm going to be doing a very quick post and run either early in the morning or late at night. I don't want my person to think it's not because I don't love them or the gift, it's just my anniversary that day (Squee!), so I'm kind of going to be busy that day reminding DH that he totally hates his life, lol.

<div>Oh yow.  So DH and I learned this week about customs at the holiday time and packages.... it may be a problem ladies. </div><div>
</div><div>Backstory - there's a money order coming to us from Canada that was sent out in late October that still hasn't made it here.  The lady at the post office looked into it and said that around the holiday time they can sometimes put something aside at customs and just get to it when they get to it.  That's been six weeks, sent in October... not near Christmas.  </div><div>
</div><div>I'm wondering if some people won't be getting theirs for a while, so I don't know if we should come up with something new altogether.  </div>

How about a roll call on 01/01/2011 to start with?  Decide then what to do.

<div>Yeah I think we'll have to plan on working with what we have!  </div>
  • Who's the one overseas, Kathryn?  Maybe she could give us the all clear when she gets hers, and we can see if there's anyone who's still waiting then.
