    Someone else being excited about a wedding in their future (whether they are engaged or not) in no way takes away from your wedding. If it bothers you, just don't talk wedding with her. She isn't obligated to be excited about your wedding; as a BM she has to show up in a dress, preferably sober.

    The same way that someone getting married close to your date detracts from your wedding. Not in the slightest. Big warning signs of insrcurity, to be so hateful and defensive about something so inane.
