outdoor cerimony

Hi New to the boards.
I am having trouble finding a venue. Looking for somewhere I can have an outdoor cerimony and indoor reception. Approximately 225 people. Would love to be able to bring in my own food and alcohol but it's not a must. Don't have a set budget but would like to keep it as budget-savvy as possible.

Thank you in advance

You can check out the venue that I am using. It is lovely!

Grande Hall at the Hoffman Ranch

You can choose to use the patio or the pavilion for the outside ceremony, and have the reception in the hall. You are free to use the preferred Caterer or you can opt to use your own, I believe.  Good luck and welcome to the boards.

Thanks. I will definately check it out. Looking for something a little closer to SA (or a little north of) His family is all in the Canyon Lake area.

    Maybe Rio Cibilo Ranch http://www.riociboloranch.com/weddings-texas-style.html
    or
    Granberry Hills http://www.granberryhills.com/events.html
    or
    Red Berry Mansion http://www.redberrymansion.com/

Really depends on what you are looking for in both the ceremony and the reception. Give more details of what you are looking for, and I will suggest more.

Yes Faithville is an option I'm keeping open right now.

There really aren't too many specifics. Outdoor cerimony/indoor reception. I have plenty of time for DIY decorations so I don't really need any of that included. Will be a late evening wedding so will not be having a formal dinner. Most likely just appetizers. Basically just looking for an empty venue that will let us choose/provide most everything. Can't afford an arm and a leg for it though.

I had my wedding at Canyon Springs Golf Club in north San Antonio (Stone Oak area) and truly loved it. You can check out my bio for pictures of my outdoor wedding (in front of the waterfall on the 18th hole) and indoor reception (in their larger room, the Pavilion). They do provide the food and alcohol though, so you can't bring in outside caterers.

It's more northwest of SA, but I would recommend checking out Marquardt Ranch too. They have beautiful sites. When I went to look at it the lady said they would start requiring you to choose a caterer off their list, and I'm not sure what their policy is on alcohol now (it used to be that you could bring your own).

One more place that is actually slightly northeast of Canyon Lake is Old Glory Ranch. It is really really pretty out there, but not cheap at all.

I would absolutely love to have it at Canyon Springs or Marquardt Ranch but they both seem a little out of my budget. Would like to spend 2K if it's just the room or about 5K with venue/food/alcohol.

Yes, I think Canyon Springs and Marquardt would end up costing considerably more than that.  Unfortunately with a guest list over 200 it's going to be tough to keep it cheap for the food and alchol.  If you haven't set an actual date yet, opting to have the wedding on a Fri or Sun can save you quite a bit of money.

I'm not sure of the policies or how it would work logistically (not even sure when your wedding is and how the weather will be), but have you tried looking into renting a space in a park for the ceremony? I wouldn't think it'd be too expensive.  Does anyone you know have property near Canyon Lake that you could use for the ceremony? That would be really pretty up there.

If you find somewhere that allows you to choose your own caterer, I would highly recommend checking out Carino's for the catering.  Italian food is always awesome, IMO, and they have amazing prices.

This is pretty much the opposite direction from where you're looking, but one girl on here had her reception at Old San Francisco Steakhouse in the glass room for a really good price (and it was beautiful).

    Good luck finding somewhere!

Try La Fontana Springs, it's in Garden Ridge.  I'm not sure how many people it can accomodate but I'm pretty sure she said she's had about 300 there before.  It's especially great if you love the outdoors or being out in the country.
