BM and her new Tattoos!!!! HELP

OP, I do think that (maybe unintentionally) your post came across a little shallow. I personally was excited to come across this topic, because I have a similar concern with a member of my own wedding party, but when I read that you were concerned it would take attention away from you, I was a little shocked. So maybe that's what has everyone one else all fired up about it.

That being said, I don't think there's anything wrong with being concerned about the tattoos. I have a tattoo on the back of my neck, and a friend of mine who got married recently asked if I could cover it up for pictures. I wasn't the least bit offended, and I wore my hair down, and it was fine. Of course, my tattoo is small and easily covered, so your situation may be different. But if you are close friends, there's nothing wrong with bringing up your concerns and trying to figure out a solution that you're both happy with. I certainly didn't infer that my friend cared more about my appearance than me, and your friend shouldn't either.

The issue I'm having is actually the opposite -- My fiance is having a best woman, and she has a half-sleeve. Since I'm not close to her at all (only met her once), I don't feel comfortable talking to her about the tattoos. I don't think her tattoos are that big a deal, but they are just not something that I want in the wedding pictures that I am going to be looking at for the next 60 years. I'm covering my own tattoos for the wedding; not because I don't like them, regret them, or am ashamed of them, but because they would take away from the timeless, classy look that I want for my pictures. Since she is on the groom's side, and all the GMs will be wearing jackets, I think it should be fine to have her wear a jacket or sweater over her dress as well, but I am a little nervous that she might be upset about it. As for the reception or any other time when we are not taking formal pictures, I couldn't care less whether anyone's tattoos are showing!
