Yay Emily! Where in Nor Cal? That's where DH and I are from? I'm assuming Travis?
Posted by bablingbrooke
It's at the Beale AFB. I actually wish it was Travis b/c then I would be much closer to San Fran, which is where one of my friends lives, but oh, well. Still fairly close I guess. But, really, it could be in Timbuktu, and I would still be freakin' ridiculously excited.

• OMG Emily that's only about a half hour from where I grew up! It's a very nice place to live. Very midwest-like so you should feel right at home, but still has CA weather :)

• My parents live in Central CA, my DH grew up in SoCAL, and my sister lives in SF...with the con artist!

I want to live in SB but DH wants to live in NORcal. He doesn't want to live in the penninsula though. Phew, I hate the cold weather in SF!

We agreed that we really can't live in a huge city because we already live in NYC....we don't want cities to compete with each other. So you all can come visit me when we own a tuscan style house!
Emily, when I was 14, I could ONLY think about boys. What is this thing you call homework?
Posted by stina93446
LOL, I was such a nerd in high school...I actually CARED about homework. Can't tell you what I was thinking!

• Or you can all come hang out with me and DH on the beach in sunny So Cal :) As a lifelong Nor-Caler I'm supposed to not look forward to living down south, but I'm pretty stoked. Sometimes you have to move to the east coast to remember why you've always lived on the west coast :)

I got in SO much trouble for being into boys. My parents actually threatened to send me to an all girl's school.

• I was terrified. Then again, I was a really bad kid when it came to hormones. I developed WAY early and didn't know what to do with my body. It took me a long time to respect myself, and there are still days when I don't LOVE my body, but I am past that bad part of my life called high school and middle school.

• I didn't think anything of being at an all girls school. It was very normal where I grew up, there wer 4 major all girls high schools and just as many all boys ones. I was thrilled to go to college because I got to be in class with boys and wear whatever I wanted to class.

I went to an all-girls school too and I MISSED that uniform! It made life so much easier. Going to college with boys made me realize that I probably hadn't missed much. We saw boys all the time and I dated all through high school--I just got to only see them when I actually wanted to :) I thought it did wonders for everyone's self esteem and we all made really great friendships.

• I propose we kick it off. Topic: FI/DH:
-What does he do? Computer stuff for an outsource IT company.
-How did you meet? At an Irish pub in NYC. He actually started talking to my friend, but when she brought up astrology (I warned her!), he decided she was a flake and started talking to me instead.
-How old is he? 31
-Thing that attracts you the most to him? He's bright and has a ton of interests and talents.
-Is he the type you expected to marry? Yes & no. He's the kind of guy I've always been attracted to - a bit of a troublemaker - but I'd never figured on (1) meeting a guy in a bar, (2) a younger guy, (3) a smoker!
• Thanks for doing this Stina!

I was BEAT last night. I hardly slept at all on Monday (I seriously don't think I got more than two hours but I could be wrong), so DH and I called it an early night.

I'm way late to the party, but this! I went to an all girls school and am from CA...and despite the fact that it's 10am in Chile, I could really use a margarita at any of your houses right about now.
• Emily- this is going to be a great week and an even better weekend for you! And besides, I'm sure no one will care if you start drinking during the day, just tell them you're celebrating early.
