El Tropicano Hotel

Has anyone had an event at El Tropicano Hotel? How did you like it? Was it expensive?
I'm considering it as a possible venue for my wedding but am concerned that it won't be what it looks like on the website. I am hoping that someone will have first hand experience with this location, so if you have any info, I appreciate it!

I did not have my wedding there but my fiance was in his cousin's wedding and they had their reception there. Events by Reese did the decorations and it was beautiful with the lighting and all that good stuff. Greg Reese who is also my planner said that the room itself is just a square white walled space and that it's a blank canvas and needs help with decorations to make it look great.

I will say that their decorations made it look fabulous. Food was expensive, at least for our budget I believe they paid between $8000-9000 for what was served which was a plated dinner. London broil (steak) mashed potatoes, veggies and a roll with tea. Guest count was 350 total if I remember correctly. Parking was so so and I can't remember what we paid if anything at all.

    I hope this helps!

Have to agree--- the lighting can change the room, but I have a feeling you will be let down when seeing it in normal light. The chef there is awesome.
