Thank you notes

Some of our relatives gave lai see specifically to my parents, and not me. Some gave my parents lai see and some other small token gift to me (not cash). When writing thank you notes, do I have to thank them for the cash AND the non-cash gift? Or just the gift that they specifically gave to me?

I don't know if there IS a specific ettiquette... we thanked our guests for everything and figured that was the safe bet.

More traditional Chinese relatives are not that into thank you gifts. If any, they usually receive a copy of a formal picture taken by your photographer. But if you want to send thank you notes (it is, afterall, a nice gesture), you can say: thank you for being part of our special day and your gifts
