Grandparents Walking Down Aisle

Does anyone know if it is customary, or ever happens, for grandparents to walk down the aisle, at Jewish weddings?  I feel like I've seen it before, and had kinda for some reason assumed my grandfather (our only grandparent left) would..  but now I've also heard otherwise and I'm not sure if people do that or if that's "odd".  Would appreciate any input!

my grandmother will be walking down the aisle with one of michael's friends.  unfortunately, my grandfather is in a wheelchair, and we think it would be too difficult to have his aid walk him down.  my mom wanted her brother to walk my grandmother down, but then i would feel badly not having my dad's brother included as well, so that's what we came up with
