At least we know our wedding will be unique...

Today, NotFroofy and I were talking about who we would like to have do the ha-motzi (which will be in the sukkah after the ceremony).  There will only be about 15 guests at the ceremony, and many of them are already doing something (a reading, one of the Shevah Berakot, photography, videography, or running the CD of the ceremony music).  We finally agreed that the best person to do the ha-motzi would be my ex-husband and his sister.NotFroofy is pretty sure, however, that we will be one of the few weddings this year in which there will be an announcement that, "The ha-motzi will be given by the ex-husband of one of the brides."

Yeah, there were periods, particularly right after he announced he was leaving, when I pretty much wanted to strangle him.  However, we have been divorced since 1996, and have had to figure out a way to work together to rear two children in spite of that.  And he's not a bad guy--just kind of clueless.

Your wedding sounds wonderful. How great that you and your ex are on good terms now despite what happened in the past. It is far, far healthier for your mental health and for your children than my MIL's anger at FIL even though she hasn't seen him in almost 25 years.
