Kosher Reception in Long Island/New Rochelle area

Hi Ladies, I would love any input that you have...I Live in Queens NY and have a few religious family members and we might have to go Kosher, does anyone have some suggestions of locations that is pretty and reasonable and not in Temple? I love the beach so I wanted to do it by the water if possible but it's hard to find a Kosher Kitchen Venue or a place where they take Caterers and does not cost an Arm an a Leg??? Please provide any feedback you can!!! Sincerely, Marina

you might want to check out my venue, its called the view on the hudson and its right on the water.  its in rockland county, which is a little further upstate than new rochelle but it could be doable for you.  they do both kosher and non kosher events.  i believe they work with two kosher caterers, we used main event which also does events other places as well (you could call them and see what other locations they use).anywho, the website is www.theviewonthehudson.comgood luck!

In New Rochelle there's the VIP Country Club which does Kosher weddings.... http://www.vipcountryclub.com/Index1.htmAnother New Rochelle venue is the Surf Club just down the road from VIP but I'm not sure if its kosher. I probably went to 25 functions there over the years and its awesome, I just can't remember if its kosher or nothttp://thesurfclub.biz/weddings.phpAlso, in Mamaroneck, just down the the road from New Rochelle is the Beach and Yacht Club. It is absolutely gorgeous but I'm not sure about kosher catering.. you can always call and askhttp://www.mamaroneckbeachandyacht.com/Catering.htmlAlot of the waterfront properties are private clubs in this area so it might be hard to find affordable ones that will allow non-members in. GL w/ your search and I hope these recs help!

Oh and on LI the only Kosher venue I know of is Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury. Its very pretty but not really near the water... I had my hs prom there and remember the food being awesome if that helps at all (that was about 10 years ago, lol). http://www.cresthollow.com/index.cfmThere are probably a ton more kosher venues on the Island.. I just don't really know of any. I do know that there are several gorgeous shuls that do wedding receptions on site and have kosher caterers so that could always be an option for you.

We used Crest Hollow and it was overall a good experience. It could have been better if we had known a few things beforehand. (I can fill you in if you're interested.) The price was the best we found for the amount we got. The places in New Rochelle tend to get pricey. The food was great and the place was beautiful - we keep getting compliments! They do have a little pond where we took some pictures.Let me know if you want more info. Def don't sign with Crest Hollow without the info though.
