Texas-San Antonio

i thought it was a nice gesture...

i'm getting married in june and as a gift for my bm is to pay for their hair/makeup and i fell in love with Mary Coop (she's been mentioned many times in previous posts) and i told her i basically want her.

here's the problem: 2 bm have said they are allergic to Mary Kay products which is what she uses, and they've both said they can do their own make-up and they're okay with that but it makes me feel like i'm giving them half a gift.

i want them to feel pampered as much as i will so i was wondering if any of you ladies had any other great recommendations for hair/make-up at a reasonable price. i will be getting married in Boerne and i know some makeup/hair people charge for out of san antonio distance.

i know i'm ranting but i'm at a lost and so i want to know what's around before i make a final decision. thanks for your help!

I don't know if my suggestions will be any good, but I did want to say I'm using Mary for my wedding next weekend and I'm super excited. She's such a sweetheart.

Is there any way you could travel into SA for the make-up? I know a few girls have gotten their make-up done at the MAC in Dillard's in the malls. The La Cantera location might not be too far away. I can't remember how much they charge though. I want to say around $50, but that's buying the products (like they make you buy products that add up to at least $50 and they will do the make-up for free). That's probably more than you were wanting to pay.

If you can't find anyone, I'd probably just say that you should find other gifts. You could still pay for everyone's hair, which is a great gift. And either just pay for the make-up for the ones who are getting it or see if they would be willing to pay for that on their own. Then you can get other little things for everyone, so it doesn't seem like you're picking favorites by paying for the other's make-up (although honestly, with how amazing Mary's prices are I don't think the 2 who do their own make-up would really feel that slighted). Anyway, HTH some. Good luck!

It was a nice gesture. I would have been one of those girls who couldn't use the make-up, too.  If you really want to do something else, you could do mani/pedis instead...those are always awesome!

Ditto Stephanie. I'd look in to getting them something else like a GC for mani/pedi.

    thanks ladies for your help!

I'm still looking around but I really do like Mary, and perhaps do something different for those 2 girls.

Thanks a lot for your help, it was my first "thrown me for a loop" wedding moment. :)
