I'm Not Jewish, but FI Is And...

...I was wondering what the processional is in the Jewish faith. Is the groom escorted by both parents?

Traditionally, yes. The groom is escorted by his parents and the bride is escorted by her parents. Or, in some Orthodox communities, the groom can be escorted by the two fathers and the bride by the two mothers.

Thank you, also, do the groomsmen and bridesmaids walk together as well?

No, they go down the aisle one at a time.  Or at least that's how we did it.

Usually the groom is escorted by both parents and so is the bride. I've seen it both ways with the bridesmaids and groomsmen -- we had ours walk together because it was a super-long aisle outdoors so our decision was based on common sense rather than any tradition. I also usually see grandparents as part of the official processional (when they're healthy enough to do it).

Thank you all! You've been such a help, we really want to have a non-religious ceremony, but with nods to both faiths.
