How many programs?

I've heard different suggestions for the number of programs needed. We are doing a fairly detailed, longer program with descriptions and explanations so I'm thinking that everyone might want one (I've always hated reading over someone else's shoulder). For those of you that did this type of program, how many did you have?

I did one per person plus extras. I knew it was overkill, and yes, we had extras left over, but I was printing them at home so it wasn't any big deal to print extras. My thought was that I'd rather have too many than not enough (which is pretty much the way I do everything -- if I'm serving for food 10 people, I have enough for 20!).

Yeah, the general advice you'll hear on other boards is that one per couple is fine.  But what they are referring to is programs that just say who is in the wedding party.  If you are including ceremony text, descriptions, and explanations, I'd say one per person is better.
