What are your recommendations to get Jewish items for my wedding online? Here are the items that I need:
Ketubah - I want something beautiful that I can frame and hang on my wall in our home.
Kippah / Yamika - I want to get a really nice, high quality one for my groom. I also need to get some for the groomsman. Do you think I should have a bunch available for our guests at the wedding? We don't have a ton of Jewish guests.
Wine glass stomp pouch - What are you using? I don't need anything too fancy.
Please let me know if you got any other special Jewish items for our wedding and where you got them.
Thank you!
Amy
Re: Where to Get Jewish Stuff Online
I purchased my ketubah at www.ketubahsandmore.com. Great prices and very fast shipping!
I purchased enough kippot for all male guests, Jewish and non-Jewish males alike. In fact, I purchased 5 dozen of them and still had quite a few left over. I used www.yarmulkes.com.
Good luck with your wedding planning! By the way, when and where is the wedding? I want to add you to my weekly kallahs list.

If you just want a pouch for any old glass (or light bulb) you could just use a pouch you have laying around or make one (maybe use material from your mom or FMIL wedding dress or something).
Like Musichaels, we also used yarmulkes.com for kippot (we bought 100 black suede). We also bought H a new tallis there... we were very happy with both.
For a glass to break, we just used a light blub wrapped in a colored napkin... I think we bought the napkin at Kohls maybe?
For our ketubah we went with a Micki Caspi design... http://www.judaism.com/display.asp?ecat=JCEBF
We bought ours from a local Judaica store. It was nice to see the different options and sizes in person. But you could always just order them online. I found prices were exactly the same online and in person for the Ketubah, we wanted so I know I didn't miss out on any online deals.
Jody, our wedding is on Sunday, March 13, 2011 at the Lake Mary Events Center in Lake Mary, Florida.
Thank you all!!!
2.www.mazeltops.com I got purple for all my guests, and ivory for my groom and groomsmen.
3. The venue might be able to donate a napkin to you for this.
173 Invites are in the mail!
58 are ready to party!
32 are missing out.
83 are nowhere to be found.
RSVP date is November 1.
RSVP Date: October 26
We used the "Embrace" ketubah by Amy Fagin of 20th Century Illuminations.
Kippot
We got ivory satin ones, plus kippah clips, from Mazel Tops. They came promptly, and were of good quality.
I would recommend having some available for guests. They are not that expensive, and a nice thing to have for those guests who want them. I found that even my nonJewish guests appreciated them.
Glass for Breaking
We used the one below, which we got at a local Judaica shop. However, if you use it, be warned that it is not easy to break! Just standing on it won't work--it has to be a sudden stamp. Another alternative is a light bulb, which is easier to break and gives a nice pop sound.
Other things to think about:
Does your synagogue have a chuppah? If not, you'll need to buy or rent one, or make one yourself.
If you use a breaking glass rather than a lightbulb, you may want to consider having something made from the shards afterward. Etsy seller Enid Traisman made a mezuzah case from ours.

[QUOTE]I dont often post here, but I lurk and I'm an Orlando Bride too. Got my yarmukes from mazeltops.com and my ketubah from mpartwork.com they're based out of sarasota. Ordered mine last Thursday before I went to lunch. I had a proof when I got back and it was printed and shipped that day. It arrived at work at 10 this morning and is stunning. If you order a sample and then buy your ketubah from them, they deduct the price of the sample from your final order.

Where are you getting married in Orlando? Our wedding is at the Lake Mary Events Center. Who are you using for your catering?
Should I get satin or suade kippahs and why?

<div>I believe that is personal preference. I am going to get satin, as I am having a summer wedding on the Jersey shore. I think suede would be out of place.</div>

[QUOTE]A girl on my local board posted this website, which has the glass you can stomp on and then put in a mezzuzah for like $20 <a href="http://www.mezuzahmaster.com/gift-occasion/wedding-mezuzah.html" rel="nofollow">http://www.mezuzahmaster.com/gift-occasion/wedding-mezuzah.html</a> If you just want a pouch for any old glass (or light bulb) you could just use a pouch you have laying around or make one (maybe use material from your mom or FMIL wedding dress or something).

YAY! That's me :-)
I like the Ketubah's I found on Etsy.
I registered for a Kiddush cup from Macy's- It's Nambe.... so we will use that for the ceremony. Many of the department stores have judaica!
Also, I'm on the search for kippas too!
For ketubah, I got mine at ketubahsandmore.com. It was really cheap, only $64 including shipping. Since my fiance isn't Jewish and a majority of my guests aren't, I am not bothering with kippahs (especially since my fiance doesn't want to wear one).
As far as glasses to break, the one where you can put the shards in a mezzuzah sounds awesome, but all the ones I've seen are kind of pricey, so I may just go with a glass from the dollar store wrapped in a cloth napkin. Light bulb sounds like a good idea, as you know it will break for sure (my mom said my dad had to step on the glass 3 times to break it!).
I do have on question for everyone though: where can you find a reasonably-priced chuppah for rent or purchase in Orlando, Fla.? If someone could let me know I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
Thank you everyone!
