I'm in wedding overdrive.

I just thought I would share my brief moment of absolute bliss. After literally two years of planning (the entire weddnig has changed over and over and over again) and waiting, I'm so stoked to finally be able to start DOING stuff now.    I'm over the moon that everything I have been envisioning for the last two years is going to come together.  It's kind of funny because I don't get excited about stuff like this, but now that I have a ring on my finger after 7 interesting years and have 5 months to plan this thing, I kicked myself into overdrive.

We have set a date (for real this time) and I am waiting to hear back from two venues to view on Monday. As my dad will be paying for the venue, I will know for sure where I am doing it and have the deposit secured by next weekend!!! (He has to head back to Alaska at that point - boo).

I already have my STD's and TY's planned out: I want to take a black & white picture of our legs, standing with our Boston Terrier and English Bulldog on leashes with a chalkboard sign in between them with the STD info. The TY's will be the same thing, except the backside of all of us with the chalkboard saying "Thank You!".

Any good recommendations on where I should be looking for DIY invitation stuff? I went to Michaels but there wasn't anything that really struck my fancy. Thought I would ask before I started making myself crazy with 3984523 different websites.

Planning a wedding was easy before when I didn't have deadlines and 40 pounds to lose. So much for sanity...

For DIY stuff:  Go to a Paper Zone tomorrow, starting at 11:00 they are having a HUGE "Wedding Extravaganza."

They will have demos and cake testing and other wedding vendors, and all things "wedding awesome."  I wish I wasn't so close to my own wedding with a ton of stuff already done, or I would SO go to this....  There should be lots of stuff to get your invites started, as well as stuff for favors, etc.

mgoss beat me to it.....but she forgot to mention that they are doing 20% off this weekend too. If you like their facebook page, they have the coupon on there.

I really want to go to this too.......but dunno if I have time. This is my last week of the quarter and I have two huge papers to write this weekend. bahhh.

Also.....if you want to do the website route, you can check out paperandmore.com and cardsandpockets.com .....those are two popular ones. And be sure to google for coupon codes.

FYI: I bought all of my stuff for invites at paper zone recently with a 20% off coupon. I got stuff to make my own pocketfolds, and I bought extra paper for table numbers, programs, etc .......and I spent I think around $150! ......which I think is a huge deal. We bought enough for 75 inviations. .......it worked out to cheaper than the websites....but it is more work to make my own pocketfolds.....which I need to get started on.

If that doesn't work out I've heard that vistaprint or shutterfly have semi reasonable printing prices, depending on how many you need. Simple designs can also be printed at an office supply store e.g. Staples. We're having the wording printed and then I'm hand stamping all the designs. Hope this helps. :)
