EXPIRED

Re: EXPIRED

• We're researching areas to move after this is all over since we've never been the "roots" type of people. We are both blessed more with "wings" than anything else, so finding a spot to make our own will be a nice, new experience.

We're researching areas that are competitive in our field and a decent standard of living with decent pay - we don't need to be millionaires but living in NY has definitely been an experience and we're both ready to move on. So - that being said we're researching Boston, MA, Cincinnati, OH and Philadelphia, PA. We're narrowing down throughout the year and planning a tentative move date of 6/1/13.

We were planning to go to Barbados but we decided to convert our HM fund into a moving fund so we can afford to go when we find the right spot; I'm really happy about that. We take lots of mini vacations throughout the year - like Cooperstown, Narrangansett, Cape, etc. so it makes sense.

We also decided that our TTC date should be the beginning of 2014; that's our 2 year plan for now.

• we'll actually be quite busy following the wedding. I will be looking for a new job, and together we will start hunting for a new place to live. we were originally planning on moving to Europe, but the visa situation got a little funny there so we decied to stay in the states longer. so by next summer we'd like to have saved up in order to move comfortably.
then, in the summer is when our honeymoon will actually be. again, because of the visas, we can't go right after the wedding, so we're putting together an impressive trip for the next summer.
and in a couple of years we will start trying to conceive. or rather quit trying not to concieve haha :) I'm 23 now and would like to have a little one in the year when I turn 26. so we'll quit trying not to have one sometime in 2014.
So at this point we have something to look forward to for the next few years at least.

• My life will go back to normal after the wedding!

I can continue to put even more time and fun into my little girl and enjoy more of my interests (photography, scrapbooking, crocheting).

I have 5 months of maternity leave left, so I am going to spend every minute of it doing fun things with my bebe :)
We will spend July getting his house ready to rent and then doing some remodelling to what will by then be OUR house. We will be attending a concert (my first!) in Indy in late July. Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney---I'm so excited!

maybe we should put together Indiana brides get-together sometime in the summer? I know there's a few of us here. I live downtown Indy and know all the cool hang-out places :P

• Midge that news really makes me want to go to Disney! That and I really want to go to Harry Potter World!

We have a concert in August but will mainly be focusing on buying a house by the fall. I'm also with spiffy that even though we talk wedding now it definitely has not consumed our life and we've still done things and talked the same way we have for 8 years.
• I've definitely been into the wedding, but it definitely hasn't been all consuming. We talk about what I've done and what needs to be done, but we still talk about other things.

After the wedding we're getting a hobby! We don't know what that will be and we might have a few, but it'll be nice that none of them will cost an arm and a leg. We're also going to try and go on more couple double dates so we can see our friends more.

There's also been talks of starting a girl's book club and a supper club. I'll have plenty to do still! :)
In Response to Re: What Are YOU Going To DO??? : we don't talk about the wedding that much anymore either. just odd comments here and there. We had most of it planned in the very beginning stages of our engagement. So the whole wedding planning is getting kinda old to me. We are looking forward to living together finally, him passing his boards for his job, some minor renovations to the house and planning our anniversary trip. We want to get a lab puppy after we get back from the HM. I see us TTC in 2014.
Posted by Ash61612
So do we! We really want to get one now but it wouldn't be fair to the puppy to leave him for the wedding/HM.
Not much will change for us. We'll have to adjust to living together for the first time, but I'm excited for the new chapter.

• We will start trying to sell our condo and buy a new home. We've already starting the process by looking and are hoping to put the condo on the market in the next week or so. We're pretty excited. We are also going to go to Cabo next January. We also plan on going to Europe in the next year before we start ttc. We will start ttc in July 2013. We are pretty excited about going on our 13-night honeymoon in the Dominican. I can't wait!

That would be cool! I'd say sometime the weekend of that concert, but we are going up on a bus a local radio station is sending. We would like to spend some time in Indy. I had a onference there in December and stayed right across from some cool things we'd like to check out.
• We are going to work on repairing my credit from my crappy first marriage and buying a house in two years. We also also going to start working out together in hopes of being able to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary (keep in mind we're both about to be 40).

I'm glad you were able to find love again. My mom is 50 and has horrible credit due to her divorce and not being able to get off a mortgage that is paid late every single month.
• He's finishing grad school in two weeks, so it'll be my turn to start in the Fall! We're gonna start a family.. slowly, by adopting a dog!

Where in Indiana are you guys? FI's parents have a lakeside property in Bedford so we go down there quite often in the summer. so anywhere in that direction is an easy trip for me to make.
In Response to Re: What Are YOU Going To DO??? : :)!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also forgot to mention we plan on reading Fireproof together.

I have that book and the Love Dare. I love them! it is fun but we haven't really done it yet.
• We both have very busy lives, although the wedding has been my main focus lately. I am divorced going on 7 years now and I have 3 boys 11, 10, and going on 4 yrs but my FI doesn't have any biological children and he has talked about wanting to try for one. Maybe I will get a girl, but thats just been small talk nothing serious. I just turned 30 and he is 35 so that is definately accounted for. We have been long distance for 3 years due to work and child custody issues so we have discussed trying to sell our houses and maybe find a city somewhere in the middle where we can live. I think Denver. Who knows.
• After the wedding we'll first go on our HM and then (hopefully) be moving within the next month of that. Beyond that I'll be in school for my next degree, still working full time, and my FI will be working full time. I'm sure the house will have stuff to do around it as well.
image
• We will be enjoying our HM. Then we have a wedding in July, Lady A and Rascal Flatts concerts, graduation party for our 18 yo son, getting our son ready for college, celebrating my BIG 40 birthday and fixing up the house and possibly putting it on the market to sell.

No more kiddos for us as we have 4 between the two of us already!! Next step is grandkids, but hopefully not for a few more years!!

:)
