Reception times

If I start my ceremony at 630 and my ceremony( I want a short one) ends at 7 then I will have an hour turnover time/cocktail hour is 8 just WAY to late to eat???

PS. I dont have the budget for a lot of little snacky foods for the wait.

Re: Reception times

  • I personally would be fine with it but maybe you could do a heavy app reception?
  • I am doing a buffet dinner for the reception!
  • I think people tend to eat later and stay up later in the summer than in the winter so I don't think it would be a big deal.  My ceremony is 7-7:30 and cocktail hour is 7:30-8:30 so they won't be eating their main course until about 10.
  • I don't think its that big of a deal, people will know to each a later lunch because they will know when your reception is so it shouldn't be a problem.

  • No that's fine. I was in a wedding exactly like that last summer and didn't even realize it wasn't until closer to 9pm when we ate. It was perfectly fine.

  • I think that's okay. Just say something about dinner on your reception insert so people know they will have dinner and to just eat a snack before the ceremony. A lot of people don't eat dinner until 8 anyways.
