Re: Weekly checks!

  • WR: I ordered my dress!!!!!!

NWR: Put together my final thesis presentation which I have to present in under 12 hours.  I hope I don't throw up today.  We also packed up a lot of our crap to get ready for our move.  Overall, it was a VERY productive week for us.
  • WR: Yesterday my mom and I made up my bouquet (for the most part) and some boutineres.

Just noticed my cat (Baxter) and brother are in the bout picture. I love my baby kitty. :)
This is just our first attempt and I have yet to add ribbon and such to the bouquet and pins to the bouts but what do you all think? I love them :)
  • @midget, I love your bouquet! Very pretty.

I haven't done anything, but I know what I have to do in the next couple months. I have florists in mind, I have to find a baker and go look at limos. I will be doing those things in the next few months and I'm getting excited to get more checks off my list!

  • I decided on my dress!!!  I haven't ordered it yet because I want to lose a little more weight and I don't have my shoes yet.

I also made some sample invitations over the weekend.  Now I just need to decide which design to go with.

  • I went to my local board's GTG yesterday that was sponsored by an on-site bridal hair and makeup company! It was really fun and I got to try fake eyelashes for the first time. FI was afraid of them :-P

I was also trying to figure out how to make my birchwood flowers into corsages and boutonnieres since they themselves don't have stems so I'd have to attach something. That in itself is proving to be a challenge (unless anyone here has ideas), so I emailed the Etsy seller I got them from and asked if she make them and said yes. I might just go that route and just use all the extra loose flowers I ordered for centerpieces :-)

We also talked to our Best Man who has his own DJ company and settled on a price, he's giving us a heck of a deal!

  • We are finally making some progress!  We went to an open house tasting event at a venue we like.  It's the first venue FI has gone with me to.  We both really liked it.  Now I am negociating some special menu items with the coordinator there so she can give us a quote.  We wanted a Mexican food buffet they didn't normally offer.  hopefully it comes back within our price range.

We ordered and receieved the picture frame for the sand ceremony. I also ordered a few more things from vp that should be here today :).

  • @sprtychick - Thanks!  I'll let you all know how it turns out.

@Midge - Those look awesome Smile
  • Thank you guys! :) I'm pretty excited about my fake flowers - I'll get to keep them forever.
  • I met with two different florists this weekend.  One I hadn't planned on meeting with at all, but my mom called the people that did her wedding flowers 25 years ago and they said they are in the midst of changing floral designers, so to check out this other floral shop because they train a lot of florists in the area.  We were able to be squeezed in early and they were great!  The woman totally understood what I wanted and had lots of ideas on ways to save money; her quote was about $600 less than I expected to spend, which is great!

The meeting we went to after was alright, she kept trying to push other types of flowers on me that I don't really like.  She also designed these lantern centerpieces for her daughters' weddings, and they were nice and all, but they're much more appropriate for an outdoor wedding (which they had) and not at all right for my reception in a ballroom, and she kept saying how we should include something like that.  Needless to say, I won't be choosing her.

    jul-congrats on the dress!
midget-nice bouquet!  It's great that you'll have it forever!
