Another photo share question

Which website do you recommend? I usually use Walgreens website to do my photos. I know Shutterfly is popular, but what are the prices per print? I don't want to use a website that is expensive. Walgreens are between $.10-$.19 per 4x6 photo.

Unfortunately, it seems Walgreens isn't going to be user friendly for this. :(

Re: Another photo share question

  • I haven't actually tried this myself but I am sure you can save pictures from shutterfly to your computer and either burn them to a CD or use any online photo companies to get prints if you find shutterfly to be expensive per print.
  • Shutterfly's webiste says you can pick up prints at Target, Walgreens and CVS in as little as an hour. Does that mean you pay that store's price?

  • For wedding photos, I'd go with an online service.  Those 1 hour photo machines don't produce the best quality images.  They're fine for every day, but I'd spring for the better quality paper and processing that comes from ordering online.

I would think so. I tried to order prints from Shutterfly which had them on sale and when I choose pick-up at a local store the prices increased. I assumed they were the stores prices at that point. Which would make sense because your using their time and products.

OK, so I stalked Krisin's shutterfly. I can't figure out how I would upload pictures as a guest. It shows her one picture that she uploaded, but I don't see an option to upload my own photos. (Not that I was going to, I was pretending I was a guest of hers... Just for the record!)

EDIT: I figured it out. You have to click on the Add button at the top right. If you click on photos and videos it only lets you order them, unless you click add at the top. I feel like an idiot. :(

  • To upload as a guest on Shutterfly the original person has to create a Share Site. We are using this for our wedding because its easy to use, there is not log-in for guests, and we can download all the pics if we choose to not print with Shutterfly. Super easy to do! I compared the other sites and didn't find any that were as simple..

    Just my opinion :)

  • I'm thinking of creating an album on Picasa Web and inviting my guests to upload.  This way, I'll  own the files myself and can print them however I like.  It seems to be the same steps a guest would need to take to upload to a photo sharing site, and the extra step is on my end: sending an e-mail to invite them as collaborators.

Am I overlooking a reason this wouldn't work?

I think it is fine if you want to invite everyone. I have too many people to do this. And I don't know all of their email addresses.

  • I agree with Jeannine.  I have had trouble trying to go from Shutterfly directly to one of the stores so now I either download my photos and get them printed or I just wait for Shutterfly to do one of their promotions and order from them, they do the promotions quite often.
  • Ok now I am confused.... I just checked my photo share site as a guest and there is no place to add photos. What am I doing wrong? clicky

  • I agree with Jeannine as well.  Definitely take into consideration the quality also instead of just the price.  I'm going with Shutterfly as well likely.
