    Mom ended up talking to FI over the weekend, and we're now assigning tables, lol.  Leaving 1-2 empty seats at each table so people feel free to move around if they want.  Figure this will keep most people happy.  Thanks for all the advice everyone!

    That's probably what I'll end up doing b/c assigned tables is NOT common around my area, but we have very limited space. I think leaving an extra chair or two is a great compromise.
