UGH! I've had so many people ask me why they weren't invited to the reception when EVERYONE is. They're not looking at my inserts and now I have to fix this for 390 guests.

Sorry Midge, I don't blame you for being so annoyed.  I don't get it though.  I've gotten plenty of invitations where the reception info was on an insert.. I dno't get why people don't look at the WHOLE invitation?

Wow, that's a pretty crappy issue to be dealing with right now. It's human nature to only read bits and pieces of certain things, but an entire insert in your invitations?! Makes it pretty lame for you

Yikes! Why can't they read everything in the envelope?  Do they think you just put the stuff in there for fun?  Makes me glad I put reception info on the invitation though!

So sorry you are frustrated by this! I have our reception and ceremony on the same piece of paper and I have people asking when and where what is - you have ONE page. Come on!

we had a guest get confused why she was RSVP'ing to my FIL for the rehearsal dinner and why she had to mail the RSVP to the wedding to my parents.

My sister had this issue, so I stated on the bottom of my invite in smaller wording "reception to follow". It seemed common sense to me, I've never gotten an invite and thought "oh man, no reception?". People can be dense.

I'm wondering if there is an easier way to get the message out? Maybe have you, FI, FILS and your parents all start calling people as you get RSVPs back?

Our RSVPs are actually to call our house, because we're crazy. So we will be able to tell everyone when they call.

Oh good! We are having everyone call my cell phone or email me (FI would forget who said what, he asked I handle it lol), so I've been able to deal with the "no, sorry, just x people written on the rsvp card".

How irritating that they aren't paying attention, though. Maybe it's my love of weddings, but I pore over an invitation anytime I get one!
