Finally!!!! Got a job

This must be the week for people getting jobs as i see drew & julie both got jobs recently. 

I applied for a day job but the manager sent me an email asking me to consider the night job as it has day end/accounting procedures & she likes that i had formal schooling. I thought about it (hate nights) & decided i needed a job more than i hate nights, went for an interview & was hired on the spot! No checking references etc, though she was impressed with my 4.25 GPA (worked extremely hard for that one, extremely hard).

Anyways it is a night auditor position for a major hotel chain. This is the wiki definition of the job. They typically handle both the duties of the front desk agent and some of the duties of the accounting department. This is necessitated by the fact that most fiscal days close at or around midnight, and the normal workday of the employees in the accounting department does not extend to cover this time of day.

It will be good experience either way & i am sure invaluable as i go for my CPA eventually. My first training day is tomorrow. I am excited (& nervous to see how i will do with night shifts as well).

thanks ladies, this will sure help the stress level, i have been so depressed but no one other than the fiance knew that & even he has no clue how much i struggled inside feeling worthless. 

I hope i get a night premium too but at this point the money is the last thing i care about (even though we need it) my sanity was starting to go, honestly. 

I didn't even ask about rate of pay oh my lol.

And I hear ya on the nights thing! Every 3 weeks, I will do 3 12 hour night shifts, which are going to suuuuck, but hey, a job is a job!

I know <strong>exactly </strong>how you feel.  It took me 7 months to find a job after graduating and I felt useless as well.  FI was paying all of the bills and I felt so guilty.  It's certainly a relief to get that weight off of his shoulders a bit and to have an income.

You did it on your own time because you wanted to and I think that's such an awesome thing!  I don't think anyone should get pushed into school and I'm so happy that you made the right decisions with yourself in terms of school.  I hope all is well! :)
