June 2012 Weddings

How many candles for each table?

I will have 6 or 8 ft rectangle banquet tables. Centerpieces will be a vase of flowers, one per table. There wouldn't be anything else on the tables except for tableware.

I am picturing something like this.... (as far as lighting goes)

I want to take advantage of the candle coupon today. :)

Edit: I might add a table runner. Also, there will be twinkle lights on the celing of the tents.

Re: How many candles for each table?

  • are you planning on using votives or pillar candles? I was thinking you could use 3-4 pillar candles and surround the vase and have the votives on the table as well to balance out the votives.

I love the twinkling lights idea!  I agree, 3-4 candles is a good number.  I'm using 3 plus a floating candle per table.  If you wanted to do more you could if they were different sizes, otherwise I think it could look like a bit much.

I would love to do pillar candles, but I don't think it is in our budget. Maybe though.....
I was thinking 5 or so votives, which is pretty close to what you ladies suggested.

I also was thinking of doing the votives, with some tea lights, but I don't think they will burn long enough. Most tea lights only burn for about 4 hours. We will be partying long after that! ;)
