I made a couple melted crayon canvases for my maid of honor and bridesmaid and had the idea that I should do one for my flower girl as well. Today I stopped at Michaels and picked up the supplies I needed and planned to make the canvas today.
I taped off a letter 'm' and set to work melting the crayons. I knew there would be a little bleeding under the tape; I planned on painting the 'm' white once I was all done.
Unfortunately, it didn't work the way it did in my head.
What.A.Disaster!
I hoped the crayon would run over the tape, leaving the 'm' lots of color to pop out of. Instead, the crayon pooled around (and under) the tape and down the sides. Then when I went to pull the tape off, most of the adhesive from the tape remained on the canvas. I thought I could maybe save the canvas by texturing the white paint for the 'm' to add a contrasting texture from the smooth crayon (and hide the leftover adhesive). I don't know; what do you think? Salvagable? Or scrap?
