ANXIETY KICKING IN - isn't it way too early for this?

Hi all  -

we booked our church and venue and i have done a lot of the legwork researching other vendors. While i am 99.9% sure of the ones I looked at I'm afraid if I book that I'll end of changing my mind and once i put the deposits down it will be too late. I'm an accountant so now is the prime time for me to get stuff done. In NY if you wait until a year out you may be SOL on the vendors you want. Any ideas/suggestions on how to be less anxious and be able to enjoy being engaged and planning? Right now I am really not loving it, especially because of all the estimates I got and we are completely on our own to pay for our wedding!

If you're worried about changing your mind after putting down deposits, the key is to STOP researching vendors once you've made a commitment.  Then you won't be able to second guess yourself (unless there is some serious reason you've decided to not go with your initial vendor).  You do still have time, even though you are in NYC/Long Island.  It's a highly populated place, but that also means you have more options to choose from.  Even vendors from PA and NJ will be willing to travel out for your wedding.  You'll always be able to find a vendor, but I would say peace of mind does come with booking early.  Good luck and I'm sure whatever decisions you make will be perfect for you and your wedding day

I completely relate to your anxiety at this point in the planning.. I was so happy to see your post today on the boards b/c I am feeling the same way!.
We have our church and our reception venue.. and have just begun to look and interview other vendors (i.e. photoog, dj etc.) I have the exact same feeling of "bride remorse" once contracts are signed and booked. I am so afraid I will see or hear of something else and kick myself for not going with that instead!. Don't feel like you are alone! LOL
I might not be able to offer you any advise or suggestions regarding this,, but I felt strongly enough to let you know I feel the same way!! Just know we are in the same boat
