  • Ya I would first start by beating someone's booty at the shop! This is there business how do you lose a dress? I would also contact the shipping company to see if they are more thorough then the dress shop. Even with out a tracking number they should be able to tell you if a package was shipped from your shop (or their main distribution center) on a specific date and line it up with your ship to address. If the shop is big like DB it may take some major digging for them and the shop but thats their job.

This. No tracking number seems very irresponsible

  • I'd be panicing (every way I spell this looks wrong) and plan B-ing right now if I were you.  I'd start by going straight to the owner of the shop and firmly but civilly explain my complaint.  If she's any sort of professional at all she should apologize and make finding your dress ASAP a priority!

Step 1: Call the salon and speak to the highest person available and get a straight answer for them-no matter what service they used, there is a tracking number out there. They should have a corporate account with a major carrier, therefore they can contact Fedex etc and get it from them. I wouldn't let them off the hook until they give you an answer

Step 2: Call the carrier, they should be able to search by your delivery address to find the tracking number/file

Step 3: Depending on the results of Steps 1&2, speak to the shop owne/manager about a replacement-they better be offering you a replacement dress ASAP or a full refund. There are plenty of places to get a dress in a short amount of time-the ladies on TK can give you all the names/resources. I would also inform the owner that you are going to give them a honest and thorough review of their management of this issue, and report them to the BBB if they do not act appropriately.

Step 4: Report your salon to BBB & any online forums. It's simply unacceptable that they don't have a tracking number for such an important item. And if they resolve the issue to your satisfaction, make sure to note that in your reviews. It's important for other customers to know that there was a problem, but the shop did what needed to be done to get the problem sorted.

  • unacceptable.. make them find your dress immediately. The shipping company HAS to know where it is for their own company records so they have to be able to know where it came from, when it was picked up, where it's going and where it is. If the shop doesnt talk to the company for you then get their number and call yourself. sending positive vibes that it shows up before you even have to raise hell!

  • you are a lot calmer then I would be! good luck getting some answers

  • Now that you updated-

If you can find out the carrier, I would go through them first. They SHOULD be able to search by your delivery address to see if there are any packages for that location. If they can't find the info:

I would ask the salon in CT for the contact name and number at the 2nd salon. And then when you contac the second salon, ask for her Maggie Sottero corporate contact. And try to track it down from there. This chain of communication will just delay you getting answers-so go right to the source of the most information: Maggie Sottero.

And if for some reason your package is in the ether, at least Maggie Sottero is a very popular designer so you should be able to find your dress on OnceWed, Church St. Bridals, etc.

    Good luck!

  • If you havent' already paid for the dress I would be finding another option in your local area. If you have paid for it, I would be asking for an immediate refund so that you can go purchase another dress. You are right about it all working out in the end but until then you should be locating your dress rather that is finding where the dress is that you already ordered or going to a bridal shop local and getting one you know will be ready. May 30th is only a month away and I know with alterations it can take that long to get your dress. I really hope you get a dress that works for you soon!

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: My Dress... : I think my best option for a plan B right now is to start calling shops in my area (TX) and asking them if they have any sample dresses they are planning to put up for sale close to my size and then start visiting them to see if I like any of them. That is all I can think of. I only have until May 8th to get a dress in for alterations.

Depending on where you are at in DFW area and if you have time, I went to a locally run bridal store in Tyler, TX ( a few hrs east of Dallas). I bought a sample. I don't know how many samples they have on sale, but the room was full when I went there last November.
