I miss the board!!

I have been soooo busy wrapping up all whats left. I hope to take some pics and have downtime sunday so I can share withh all what have been up to. I miss all you girls and guy :)

I do need immediate help though. I went over all the last details with my venue and they said I dont need a banquet license!?!? Is this true? They said because they are a private property I dont need one. The booze will be flowing. Please tell me if I need to gwet one. I know they are only like $10 but I could use that $10 else where like more booze LOL

I just found out I had to get one even though I hired bartenders. I think the state just wants your money--so I'd bet you need one. Just go to the liquior store with information abouot your caterer and phone number and your venue address. They will also have you fill out how many guest and how many underage. Good luck! I got mine yesterday!

did your venue tell you this in person or by email? if by email, keep it forever. if you can't spare that $10, don't. hold the venue accountable for it with your proof.

I have never heard that I needed one either, but since Sara & Trisha have been talking about it, now I am worried.  My caterer has a bartender that is coming.  They haven't said I need one.  The venue hasn't said I need one.  Should I even worry about this?  My venue is private property also...

I don't think you need one if its a private place that already has a license to serve.  I don't need one b/c my caterer has one and my caterer and venue (City of Seattle) both said there's (the caterer's) will cover it.  So, if your venue or caterer or bartender already has one, you should be fine.
