What's everyone doing for reader gifts?

I'm having two of my aunts read passages for the ceremony, and I'm having a heck of a time figuring out what to get them as a gift.  I know people say "shop like it's their birthday", but I don't know what they like!  At all!

Any ideas?

Re: What's everyone doing for reader gifts?

  • I'm giving our reader a monogrammed friendship vase.
  • I'm giving them fpretty frames with a nice thank you note in it.
  • I'm going to "shop like its their birthday"  maybe get them a picture frame with stick figures of me and them drawn inside...maybe a windchime or pretty pot for some flowers.

  • We're not doing gifts for them. 2 of the readers are in the WP and the other is FI's sister. We're just doing gifts for WP and FG and RB
  • One reader is a Groomsman so we already bought him a gift, and the other reader is my aunt. We are giving her a wine bottle/candle holder, because she loves wine and it's a cute holder!

  • For our readers we got them both a personalized clutch purse. I ordered them from Etsy in their favorite colors. I wanted to give them something fun and special for them.

  • I got my reader a personalized pocket mirror.

  • For our readers/gift givers/moms/grandmas I got Vintage handkerchiefs on eBay and am going to include a personalized poem for each...most of the weddings I have been to the readers usually get a corsage, but a lot of my fiances family is allergic to flowers so I thought this was a nice unique touch...also for our parents and my aunts who helped us a lot with the wedding I am making personalized wood wine boxes and putting a bottl of champagne and set of flutes in it (got the idea from Martha Stewart Weddings)

My younger cousins that are reading and singing, I got corsage style bracelets so they can wear them again.
  • I have no idea yet. One is FSIL and the other is one of my cousin's who I am very close to (and who Brandon actually knew before we knew each other).

At my cousin's wedding, he gave both the reader's a book. It was really nice.
  • Our readers are both already getting gifts (my PA and a groomsman), but you said your readers are your aunts - could you ask your Mom or Dad (whichever is their sibling) if they have any insight for you?  If they have no clue, gift cards to somewhere they'd enjoy shopping are always nice.  Make sure you include a heartfelt thank you note with whatever you get them (but I'm sure you already knew that :).
  • You can have flowers delivered the morning of your wedding day.  Drop of a more personalized note to be delivered with the flowers.

  • For those of you who have having someone in the wedding party read:  Are they reading before you walk down the isle?  I've not decided who I want as readers because those closest to me are in the WP.  I'm trying to figure out how my BM and MOH can do readings and it not look awkward.  I've always thought the readings were done prior to the bride/bridessmaids walking down the isle.  How are you all doing it?
