June 2012 Weddings

QOTD (PIP)

Let's talk about hair. How do you style your hair on an every day basis? Is your hair curly, straight or wavy? Short or Long? Bonus points if you have pics.

Re: QOTD (PIP)

  • Naturally, my hair is relatively straight and dirty blonde. I "straighten" it on a daily basis just for extra sleekness. In the fall and winter I dye it a chocolate brown, sometimes with a reddish tint. In the spring and summer, I lighten it with blonde highlights. Below is my most recent picture, but I now have some small blonde highlights. I love changing my hair around. I'm pretty sure that it is an addiction at this point. I'm growing it out for the wedding, and when we get married it will be during the blonde phase!

  • I hate my hair! haha. It is medium brown, i used to do highlights & lowlights but i quit last year. It was just too much maintenence. I probably will do them again before the wedding. Right now it's between chin length & shoulder length. It's really wavy and poofy when left alone. I prefer to wear it straightened, but i dont have the patience to blow dry & straighten everyday before work. Most of the time I wear it in a ponytail or half up in a barrette, then put it in a ponytail just out of habit some time thru out the day. right now it's a little too short so I need a lot of bobby pins to keep in a ponytail. I would trade hair with someone if that were possible! haha.

  • My hair is naturally curly and I wore it long my whole life until the beginning of 2008. Which this is how I always wore it and I never colored it.

Now that it's short, I straighten it all the time and change the highlights every two months. Below are some examples

Was gonna try to grow it a little past my chin for the wedding but I can't stand the in-between stages and might keep the style from the first short pic.
  • Usually I'm too lazy to do anything other than brush my hair :-P

It's naturally straight and can't hold curl to save it's life.

  • I had long hair my whole life up until a few years ago when I cut 10inches off for locks of love, grew it out again because I didn't care for the particular cut I had (it flipped out all over). Then I donated it again and have a cut similar to bee&bee. It's naturally straight, but I have to straigten in the morning for it to go the right direction. Naturally blonde with some natural highlights. I've never dyed or highlighted my hair and I don't ever plan on it. Depending on how old I am when I start turning grey that is, lol

I've been growing mine out for a year now and plan to continue letting it grow for the wedding so I have options. I have no idea how I want to wear it that day yet. Very frizzy/wavy and poofy, so I try to straighten it in the mornings too. I also get it thinned out when I go for a trim since there is just to much of it.
  • My hair is naturally very curly and thick, its pretty out of control and frizzy if I don't saturate it with products. I usually straighten it if I'm doing anything important, and therefore in most of my pictures its straight! My siggy is one of the only pictures of me with it curly that I'd ever dare show the public.

Right now I'm growing it out and taking prenatal vitamins to make it a little healthier and hopefully easier to control for wedding events. So when its just straight it looks way longer and is easier to control:

But if I'm going out or its a special occasion I usually use a large barrel curling iron to make longer, relaxed waves:

It's naturally a dark brown, but lately I've been using semi-permanent dye to make it almost black. I like the semi-permanent because when I straighten it I don't need to wash it for a few days because its so dry, so I get like 3x the amount of time out of the dry-it usually washes out in a month but if I'm straightening the whole time then it takes like 3 months! The dye's gone for now though and I'm not sure if I want to do it again before summer, I don't want to be too dark.

  • I usually wear it in a stacked, angeled bob (very similar to @bee&bee) but I am in the process of growing it out for the wedding. I have always imagined having my hair up for my wedding. FI loves my hair when it's in a short bob so he is not a fan of me growing it out.

  • I have (had) long brown, really thick hair. I had been growing it out to donate it for quite some time and lopped it off 2 days ago! I'm an actress and had to get a haircut for the next show I'm doing, so off it went. there's enough time for it to grow back out, and i'm going to wear it up anyways. here's before and after pics.

  • I have shoulder length super thick, wavy hair. I usually just wear it up in a ponytail because it's uncontrollable unless I take the time to blowdry and straighten it. I am trying to grow it some for the wedding. I have to get it thinned out often to help the poofiness.

When I take the time to straighten and deal with it it looks like this just a little longer now.

  • I have long curly hair. Although you may never see me with curly hair. I think in a year and a half my FI has seen it once. I straighten it everyday. It usually is dark brown with highlights.

  • My hair is dark brown and is naturally very thick and curly. I also have some lighter brown highlights but I've been growing those out for a while now. Right now, it's about 2-3 inches past my shoulders when down (while curly). Typically, I keep it anywhere from an inch below my shoulders to a foot below that in length. I donate my hair when I can so I just keep growing it out all the time. As far as what I do with it, for work it's usually in a pony tail because it all needs to be up and out of my face for what I'm typically doing. Beyond that it's usually down and I just put a little mousse in it when I get out of the shower to control any frizz.

  • My hair is fine and a medium/darker brown. In my signature picture it is just blow dried. That is pretty much how my hair is usually. I do have side-swept bangs now. I would love to have curly hair. It would give it more body.

  • I have had so many different hair styles its not even funny! It started with donating for locks of love, then a haircut from hell, then growing it out forever, and now (finally) a style.

    1) Short hair

    2) Cut from hell - you can't tell since most photos have been destroyed, but it was like a mullet. horrible!

    3) Grown out

    4) Currently, stolen from the knicks fanphoto page and you can't even tell what my hair looks like since it rained that day. BUT its got lots of long layers and a long bang

  • My hair is naturally brown and stick straight, I can't get it to hold much of a curl unless I kill it with product. I'm not big on dying my hair, I had highlights once in high school and my freshmen year of college I dyed it a temporary red color. I really like my natural color though and it has enough natural variations without having to do highlights.

I vary the length of my hair every so often from chin length to really long. The length in my siggy pick is about the shortest it has been and right now it is super long, it goes to mid-boob. This is the most recent pic I have is from our engagement in December.
