Barcelona hotels

Has anyone been to Barcelona before?  If so, what hotel did you stay in and did you like it?  I am really in need of hotel suggestions in the city.  There are SO many it seems like and a lt have good reveiws.  I am having a really tough time deciding.

I want to get the hotel figured out because then everything will officially be booked.  I booked flights this morning and the cruise yesterday.  Hotel is all that is left!

I was in Barcelona for a week, but stayed at hostels. Not sure if that's what you are looking for, but if so, let me know and I can give you some names

I have been to Barcelona but stayed with friend's family. So I am no help there. But do you have any hotel reward points? I have always had luck staying in hotels in the Hilton family. And every Sofitel hotel I have stayed in abroad has been wonderful.

I reccomend Catalonia Plaza Cataluna, which, as the name suggests, is in plaza cataluna. It is close to lots of good stuff, easy access to metro stops, la ramblas, shopping, dinning, etc. I lived in Barca for two months last year so let me know if I can make any other suggestions
