Shower Time!!!

Just wanted to share my excitement and nerves with everyone.. Lol... My Bridal Shower is this Saturday and I'm a little anxious about some things. Can you guys give me your opinion if I'm being overly anxious??? Issue 1... Have not found a dress to wear for the shower yet!! This is a big one! Lol I am looking for a light, flowy, spring dress knee length (so as not to show anything when I sit to open gifts) that has the color purple. Surprisingly, this has been very difficult to find!! I've looked everywhere.. Any suggestions? Issue 2... My MOH has not been communicating very well with the rest of my bridal party on things for the shower. It has now caused attitude between the girls and I am extremely nervous that they will all have a chip on their shoulder and create a tense environment at the shower. How do I handle this without creating a nightmare just before the shower?? I'm afraid I will not be able to enjoy the day bc I'll be worried about them all getting along and working together. Help?!

Have you looked at Dillards for dresses? They can be really hit or miss, but can have some really good ones for not too expensive.

I have some advice on the 2nd issue. There was some tension between my BM's at my first shower. There were "too many cooks in the kitchen" as the old saying goes. You just have to do what you can do but don't over stretch yourself. They are all adults and can be responsible for their own actions. Have fun, this is your special day.

I would let the girls figure it out themselves. I have 7 BM/MOH's and I'm sure all of them do not get along or disagree with something but at my shower you would never have known because they pulled it together and it was great! I would not stress about it and enjoy the excitement of the day

I'm in the same boat...no dress for my Saturday shower!  I'm so glad I'm not the only one  

Obviously, I don't have any great suggestions on the dress.  I'm probably just going to wear one I already own.  I figure they've been packed up since last summer so it might feel like new.

As for the girls, I'm not sure there's much you can do.  Just try to relax and radiate your joy and excitement and hopefully it will rub off on them make them forget their pettiness.

I have the same problem about the dress, my shower is Sunday!  I found a dress that's my back-up if the one I ordered doesn't fit and it sounds like it's what you want.  It's a Jessica Simpson dress, I can't find it online for some reason but I got it at Macy's.  It's knee-length, flowy, and a periwinkle color.  Maybe they'll have it at your Macy's?

I looked everywhere for summer dresses for my RD, I found one at Ross, and some at Gordmans. For some reason summer dresses are not easy to find.

On the second issue, I think you just have to let them figure it out. they are all your friends so hopefully they will pull it together. I think if you say anything it could potentially cause more issues.

I was in the same boat with the dress, and I actually found one at Express. At 31, I feel a bit too old to be shopping at Express for casual clothes but they have some really cute dresses right now! I got a ton of compliments on he dress and cardigan! I'll be wearing it to my family shower too. As for the bridesmaids, try not to let any tension between th ladies ruin your special day. You can't make everyone get along, but they should want to get along or at least try to get along for you. Have a great shower!

My shower was this past Sunday & I had the same issue.  My bf/moh is a little unorganized.  Since I knew all about the shower & she told me of an email of one bm that was giving her a hard time - what i did was: on Monday of last week, I casually asked her if she emailed the rest of the girls as to what time they need to show up to help you out?  And she said she was doing it that evening (which she did).  I think that helped calm everyone down.  All the girls got along fine - all but 1 (my future sis-in-law) are friends, so I think she was feeling like the outsider.  All my bm made her feel welcome that day.  They understood who she was & made sure not to rock the apple cart too much (it would have made my life miserable).

i think the girls will work it out and even if they don't i would bet they'll put it all aside for your shower.  i have several girlfriends who aren't very "girly" and was a little nervous how they would be at my shower but everyone played along, got mushy during the toasts, and helped me have the shower that they knew i would want.  you picked these women because they are close to you and important to you-i'm sure they will put you at the forefront and not their problems.  Have fun!
