Zoom Whitening?

I bought a Groupon for a Zoom Whitening session at a dentist.  I do drink coffee, red wine, etc.

When should I plan on booking the sesson?  Will the coffee/red wine cause them to darken again quickly, or will it last a long time?

I also have the trays to use at home.

Re: Zoom Whitening?

  • Ugh I typed a whole response and it got eaten.

I just did Zoom this week. It lasts up to two years so you can really do it any time between now and the wedding. You have to avoid stain causing foods for 48 hours after treatment (coffee, red juices, berries, etc). I've read that you can brush with a paste of peroxide + baking soda once or twice a week to remove surface stains-ask your dentist if (s)he recommends that.

FYI-Zoom can cause a huge amount of pain in the first few hours after treatment. No one warned me-it was like a dagger through my teeth for eight hours. I was sitting at work crying every time I had a jolt. Thankfully it was over by the time I went to bed that night.

  • Thanks Daria!  Good to know about the pain you had - I'll try to schedule at a time to make it convenient if that happens to me.
  • Wow! How much did it cost you, if you don't mind me asking?
  • Zoom has GREAT results! It should last for an extended period of time, but I would do it closer to the wedding (like the week before) OR stop drinking red wine and coffee until after the wedding if you get the zoom done now.

  • I got the Groupon too- so good to know about the pain.  I guess it's worth it though!
