June 2012 Weddings

I said yes...

To the dress! Wooooo! I'm so excited. This is the first thing I've laid down money on. I have a venue chosen but can't reserve until Jan 1, so the dress is my first item. It is an Oleg Cassini ballgown from David's Bridal, priced at $1050 but on sale for $850. The one I tried on in the store fit perfectly so that exact dress [not the one on the mannequin, the one I tried on] is reserved with my name on it. I layed it away with a down payment, until my mom gets her funds in and we can pay it off entirely.

It has a sweetheart necline, with one shoulder strap made out of sheer soft tulle. The embelishments are sparkly flowers so it fits my outdoor setting wonderfully. The tulle on the skirt is much softer and finer than it was on the Belle dress, my other favorite, and I like this much better. The embroidery design on the bottom of the front is also in the back on the train. It's a zipper back instead of my prefered lace up, but that's okay. It looks better with nothing else added to the back since it's already embellished and shirred. The shoulder strap will have to be shortened slightly and I'll need to get a bustle, but that may be the only alterations I need!

We also got a veil that matches very well. It has scalloped edges, sparkly embroidery, and is a two-tier. The lady also put on a cathedral veil AND a blush and I about had a panic attack from all the tulle. Just the one I got looks nice though. :) There's no pictures of the dress on DB yet because it's super new. Hope you can see okay from this pic!
