June 2012 Weddings

Six months to do..

I got six months to go.. and nothing planned.. I have no idea where to start!!  We are doing a budget wedding but also want a country themed... I need help!!

Re: Six months to do..

  • I would start by going to the knot checklist and see what things they suggest.

First you need to find a venue.
Then I would look into caterers if not included at your venue, photographers, and florists.

After that you can look into the smaller details like cake and music.

I would also starting looking for a dress ASAP.

Once you get done with those...come back and tell us what you've got and we can give you a million more things to do.

Agree. Also get your guest list in order. You need to know how many people you plan on inviting to make sure any venue you choose can accommodate it.
  • I agree with the 2 PPs. Get the big stuff taken care of first... you have time, dont stress!!
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • Agree with PP. June weddings fill up fast for vendors so get those things (venue, catering, DJ, photog etc) nailed down first, then you can stress on the details. Also, if you are doing a designer dress start looking because they can take 4-6 months to get in.

Good luck! The checklist is a godsend!

  • TK tools are amazing. I love them. I have a budget spreadsheet in my bio of our breakdown. Our budget is around $10k and we're $3k under or so. Definitely get your vendors booked ASAP! Then guest list!
  • I agree with PP.  Use TK check list and get the big vendors plus your dress out of the way first.
