So where we live in NS is VERY dedicated to recycling, and every spring & fall every township has cleanup. It's basically accepted and even encouraged to go scavenging. Our subdivision even has it so you bring your unwanted stuff to a lot in the subdivision, and they take care of it. Anything left over is picked up by Waste Management on a certain day. The idea's really to keep stuff out of the landfill.
So tonight, FI and I decide to go check it out, and we scored big time! We found: a couple of camp chairs, a stand-up lamp that we're going to use in the bedroom, a standing fan,a pretty large suede picture frame that I will probably make into something for my BFF, a funky TP stand for the bathroom, some cool wicker baskets, a dr. scholl's foot spa, and my favorite things, a an umbrella for the patio table and a oster kitchen centre with a food processor, blender and mixing bowl with beaters and dough hooks! And it all works! FI even got a BBQ in good condition from the guy next door, so he was able to drop off his old one.
But my absolute fave things I found are a kite for DS and a candleholder that I plan to use for out welcome sign, minus the Christmas decorations on them
