in June 2012 Weddings
So I was wondering what song everyone was walking down the aisle to? I don't know if this was posted before so please re-direct me if so.

I really want the instrumental for 'So this is Love' from Cinderella. But not just the instrumental. I know there is a version that has both the instrumental & and instruments matching the sound of her singing. I've looked forever and am close to just picking a different song.

    I was originally going to walk down to "Wonderful Tonight" by Clapton, but I've been thinking about it a lot and I don't think there'll be time for there to be 2 songs in the processional (1 for the bridesmaids, 1 for me) because our aisle is really short.. like maybe 8 feet long. So I'm rethinking it, and trying to decide if I'll just come in at a midway point in the song after the bridesmaids walk down or what.

    So I guess I'm no closer to making a decision than you are :)

    I'm using Claire de Lune by Debussy. This has always been my favorite classical piece.

    <font color="#008080">Seriously it's SO beautiful! I originally had that down for my song but switched it for the bridesmaids so I could walk to 'So this is Love', and now I can't find the right version...

    Maybe I should just find another song for the bridesmaids instead...</font>

    Originally, I was going to walk down to Canon in D. Then, the girls were going to walk to it and I was going to walk to Wonderful Tonight. Now, I'm thinking we'll all just walk down to Canon in D to avoid any awkward gaps waiting for it to finish. Should have just stuck to the original plan after all!

    The entire processional will be the hymn "Be Thou My Vision" (just instrumental). It's one of my favorites, and I really like the Irish-ness of it. The organist said he'd make a nice arrangement. There's a beautiful piano version on youtube that I hope he can get somewhat close to.

    "Golden" by Chrisette Michele.  The wedding party is walking to this as well because the aisle is really short and I want the whole song played.

    We really like the Vitamin String Quartet. Most of our cocktail music will be by them.

    We're using "Be Thou My Vision" for our sand ceremony!
    I'm walking down the aisle to "Canon in D", not original at all, but I absolutely love the song.

    I've been a huge fan of Vitamin String Quartet for a long time. I don't have all the song choices finalized yet but all of the songs before the ceremony (the prelude) will be  VSQ. I'm not sure what one of their songs the bridesmaids will walk to but I am sure that I will be walking to my FI to "All I Want Is You" as done by VSQ.

    I had been going back and forth between a few songs but as soon as I listened to this one, I started bawling and knew it was the one.

    I love all of the choices, btw, ladies!

    Tyleet - what avenues have you tried for locating that song from Cinderalla?

    FI wants someting from vitamin street also but i want the theme music from anne of green gables. i have always loved it and it invokes such a feeling of hopefullness and love in me that i have wanted to walk down the aisle to that for years...FI isn't 100% on board though...but i'll win him over :)

    Am I a weirdo for using the "here comes the bride" song?  I don't know the official name, but I sing it all the time and can't wait to walk down the aisle to it!

    "All I Want Is You" by the Vitamin String Quartet. 

    Michelle-most churches don't allow the use of Wagner's Wedding March because it's considered secular music. And most Jewish weddings don't use it because Wagner was an Anti-Semite. So I think that's why it's not a very "popular" choice.
