Card box?

Only having 15 people...we registered as well (and kept it small), but any idea for a small "card receptacle"?  I figure at minimum I need a basket or something.  Our theme, such as it is, is an oak tree with our initials carved into it.  Not sure if that is somehow inspiring!!  TIA

Re: Card box?

  • What if you just did a basket with some ribbon?
  • A carved out log with your initials carved into it?  Or like a tree stump sort of thing?  Like this (first image):

I actually found this right after I posted - wicked cute but seems like a ton of effort for a 15-guest wedding....:-/

  • You can get a log, lay it down sideways and just start digging into it to form a sort of bowl.  People can place cards in there and then you can use it for wirewood afterwords.  Or you can get a 3 inch tall, large round cross section that people can lay their cards on top.  You can decorate it by getting those wood letters that spell out "Cards" or something and stand those up on top as well so that people know where to put them.  I can't find a picture of that exact thing, but here's a small cross section:

  • I was going to post something like Julie.  What if you do something similar and just take a hat box and cover it in bark or something?

  • We're getting a mailbox and I'm writing our last name on it. This way we'll actually use it.
