Let's talk about tanning.

Re: Let's talk about tanning.

  • I would also recommend getting an airbrush tan by a professional. I found a lady in my area that does buy 2 get 1 free for brides. It was great because I could try it out first to see how I liked it.

I have gotten many compliments on it. A lot of people have asked me if I was just on vacation (I wish), so it must look real! I would definitely recommed doing a trial run first if you decide to go this way.

  • I have been tanning in a bed, but once the wedding is done I will stop.  Don't want to burn on my honeymoon.

I bought an unlimited package for a month. It was the cheapest route I could take. I have gone twice and am about as tan as I want to be. I only wanted a little color.  :)

  • i've been tanning for the past month or so, since i'm so incredibly white.  however, now i just look a normal skin tone, since i don't tan well.  (and i hate using lotion if it has to be applied evenly... which kinda rules out the self tanner.)
i've used self tanner off and on, i'm not overly impressed.  i did a spray tan once for prom, it was ok.  the "natural" vitamin d actually helps other skin problems i have, since i don't tan often, or regularly.
plus, i want to burn less than usual when i'm in florida on my HM...

also: i saw recently, people were talking on some website about how some of the tanning lotions with tan extenders and whatever were actually worse (more cancerous) than the uv light itself?  anyone know anything about that?
  • I like how I look with a little color.  I used to fake n bake but after I had a mole removed I've been scared.  I bought a spray tan package of 3.  I tried it before my bachelorette party last weekend.  It looked pretty natural on the 2nd or 3rd day, the first day was pretty intense though.  I did the Versa Spa machine.  I'll try it one more time before the wedding to make sure I want to do it for the wedding.

  • FI and i have both been tanning in a bed. I told him he needed to start for the honeymoon (in Fiji) well before the wedding because two summers ago we went out on my dad's boat on the river and he burned so bad, he had blisters the size of quarters on his shoulders! I didn't want that to happen to him again, on our honeymoon no less, and told him to get a nice base tan. he's gotten a bit darker than i expected in only 6 or 7 sessions, so he'll probably only go another ten or so times in the next five weeks before the wedding. i bought a month of unlimited tanning, and i tan really, really well, so i've been going once every few days and have noticed both my legs and belly getting darker! it's so awesome, seeing as how my legs usually take forever! i don't usually burn too much, and even if i do, (i got burnt pretty bad all along my backside when i was 16 in hawaii) it fades into a tan in 2-3 days. i'm expecting to come back from the honeymoon pretty dark!

  • I am way too impatient to tan outside and hate tanlines, so Ive been tanning in bed/booth. I normally dont because the skin cancer risk but I figured for two months i'll hopefully be ok! I usually get spray tans but no matter which one or how expensive they are, they rub off and i dont want to risk that on my wedding gown.

  • I've been tanning, in the salon, for the last 2 months.  This time, I decreaed my package to two weeks only since my pool opens this weekend.  I will just keep up with it naturally...
