Which is exactly why getting offended over it is eye-roll worthy.

I expanded on the kids thing because it came up in the developing conversation. Conversing with others and learning about different viewpoints is supposed to be fun, not confrontational and dramatic.

Oh yes. I will have expectations for my children. But speaking from experience, I will not have really unreachable expectations. Because all that does is drive children away, which will kill me.
I think there is a fine line between having expectations of people and expecting way too much out of people.
I personally expect the best out of people and if their best if half-a$$ed compare to what I can do, then I work with that person to get them up to par if I can.
I never did well with group projects. lol.

ETA:
I also want to add that I have goals for myself and FI and I have goals together. I will add that just because I don't hold people to my levels of expectations does not mean that I do no have goals or plans to work towards in my life.

I'd say "growing up" (aka before I met FI) I had super high expectations for everything EXCEPT relationships. I always tried to have like no expectations so I wouldn't get hurt.

Obviously that's different now

Now I have low expectations when I try something new..like golfing. Then I am happy with how I do lol.

I know I'm not her, but I know she was just referring to a bunch of new posters getting offended at the smallest things. Not anyone in particular and I actually can't remember you getting offended at anything.
