Cost of Invites/Paper

Re: Cost of Invites/Paper

  • We are on a pretty limited budget and I couldn't see spending a lot on invites when everyone throws them away. I bought mine through Wedding Paper Divas with 2 coupon codes. I spend $204 dollars for 75 invites with RSVP cards and envelopes. They are on a heavy recycled card stock (trying to save the earth) and we had a custom color. No reception card (cut that cost by including the info on the invite) No direction card (put our website on the invite-directions on are on the website)

I just coulnd't bring myself to pay for calligraphy nor do I have the patience to write out 75 invites. It may not be proper but I am using Avery clear labels for the addresses. I did this for the Save The Dates with a really nice font and it turned out well.
  • A guy I work with made our invites. They will be flat and printed on one side. I wanted to print it on white pearly cardstock and matte it on tangerine orange cardstock, but I am having a helll of a time finding the right color orange. :( I don't really need it I guess. I am also worried the pearly white carstock they have at Joannes will smudge the printer ink. Has anyone used it before?

(we have to change some stuff around still)

  • Similar to others, I purchased our paper from Hobby Lobby when it was 50% wedding decor. The paper is a cream linen with brown felt embossed and looks pretty classy in my opinion. We are only inviting 30-ish people so that in and of itself keeps the cost reasonable. I tried printing the text myself on my laserjet but the alignment was always crooked so I took them to a local printshop and voila! Our invitation is only one sheet of paper enclosed in a single envelope and includes a link to our wedding website (also powered through Wedding Channel) where guests will RSVP. I have already received positive responses from guests about how much they appreciate the simplicity of it all. My total cost for invites -- $35.00 for the paper and $38.00 for the printing. I am also able to hand deliver most of my invites to friends and family so I think I've only mailed about 5 invites. Anyway, my two cents FWIW :)
  • We're ordering about 200 thermography invitations with double envelopes, reception cards, and RSVP cards. Our budget is $1,000. We haven't ordered ours yet, but we met with a stationer and we should be able to stay in about that range.

  • We'll spend probably $400 total on paper products
  • I got our Save the Dates from Vistaprint by splitting in 2 orders with groupons, about $25 total plus $10 in blue envelopes from Ebay.

I bought 5 groupon type deals.  Spent $65 for $250 value, so I will probably have to split the order into smaller orders and increase shipping cost.
we are custom designing & ordering from Mixbook
    110 5x7 invites  (16pt cardstock)=$ 160
    110 4x6 reception cards (16pt)= $123
    110 rsvp cards (cutting 55 3.5 x 5 folded cards in half, 16pt) - $114
    200 programs (12pt)= 102
Take out groupon value & add additonal shipping about = $300

I really wanted colorful envelopes so I am ordering envelopes seperately from PaperPresentation.com.   Inner, outer & RSVP envelopes will add about $115

    Total $450
plus paper to print escort cards at home + $10 for Vistaprint groupon to be used for thank you cards.  Ekk! That really adds up!

  • I ordered the paper stuff from VP and got cardstock at Joann's on sale to make the pocketfolds.  The glue and everything else I need (minus stamps) I already have.

With stamps for the invite and stamps for the RSVP postcard, I'm looking at $1.06per invite total.
