What food is everyone having at the reception?

We are having a small outdoor wedding at FH parents property w/pond. Our food wiill be:

Hamburgers & hot dogs(our favourites), chicken and steak
Potato salad
Macaroni salad
Garden salad

We will also have finger foods out before and druing: fruit, veggie and meat trays, salsa/bean dip, and other assorted apps

Edit: Dessert 2 layer Ice cream cake - chocolate chip & gold medal ribbon, a moca log cake and candy buffet

  • Chicken, Prime rib, eggplant parm. We will also have a cocktail hour (first) with passed food and stations.

  • Passed H'orderves:
    -Mini pimento cheese sandwiches
    -Fried green tomato bites
    -Ham on mini cheddar biscuits with brown sugar

    Dinner:
    -Salad with 2 choices of dressing
    -Entree: Boneless fried chicken breast, grit cake, bourbon glazed carrots
    -Dessert: Wedding cake - vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream - the kicker - inside the layers is a french vanilla mousse with fresh strawberries. It is to.die.for.

    We're doing a seated dinner, our options are:

    Chicken Maison
    Beef Tenderloin with Bordelaise Sauce
    Tilapia Florentine
    Portobello Mushroom Ravioli (Vegetarian)
    Pasta Primavera (Kosher)

    The meat/fish dishes will come with glazed baby carrots and red bliss mashed potatoes.  So yummy!

    We have like 2 Kosher guests so at the last minute we had to add a FIFTH option!  I still don't know what I'm going to get!

    ETA:  We will also have hors d'oeuvres that I can't remember and a cake with 4 different flavors, each with different fillings, so I'm not listing it all!

    Chicken picatta, rosemary pork loin, and stuffed acorn acorn squash for the vegetarians. We have a cocktail hour with 5 passed apps and a fruit/cheese display.

    We're having an outdoor wedding too!

    Rotisserie beef (they are doing the rotisserie on site!)
    Polish sausage and sauerkraut (FI's family is Polish)
    Vegetarian bean salad
    Fresh fruit salad
    Normandy blend vegetables (broccoli, carrots, cauliflower)
    Homemade rolls

    FI's mom is making all of the cake! We will have almond cake with almond frosting or chocolate cake with vanilla frosting.

    Everyone's food sounds so good.... especially so close to lunch!

  • We will be having a cheese and cracker tray and a veggie and dip tray during our social hour.  For dinner we are having roasted chicken, bbq pork chops, au gratin potatoes, pasta salad, and fruit.  Our cake will be a lemon with raspberry filling and a "chocolate dipped strawberry" cake which is chocolate cake with strawberry filling and a chocolate ganache (sp?).  YUM!

    We're having passed hors d'oeures + Cheese display, Crudite display:
    - tuna tartar
    - Bruscetta with tomato, mozzarella
    - Gruyere Gougeres with Roquefort Mousse
    - Red Bliss Potato with sour cream and caviar
    - crab cake
    - mini rosemary lamb meatball
    - Buffalo Chicken bite
    - Beef Wellington

    Plated Dinner:
    app - wild mushroom ravioli with pesto sauce
    salad - greens with raspberry, goat cheese and raspberry vinaigrette
    entree - choice of filet mignon with potato or salmon with rice pilaf
    dessert - alternating desserts 1) mixed berries and zabaglione cream and 2) chocolate gelato in a waffle cup

    Chalupas with chorizo & salsa Verde Cẻsar romaine saladTopped with a crispy Tocino and jicama relish served with a smoked chipotle and tomato dressing. Achiote Marinated Tilapia Achiote marinated tilapia on a fried blue tortilla over a pickled cabbages topped with a avocado slaw and spicy lime crème fraiche. Chili &Cocoa rub Short Rib Overnight braised short ribs served over jalapeño popper mashed potatoes with carrots and green beans Spanish Paprika crusted and Stuffed chicken With chorizo and ancho peppers over  mix pepper, black bean and orzo with a Dos Equis beurre Blanc.

    Sorry, not sure why it pasted this way!  But guests have their choice of 3 entrees.  I have 4 flavors of cake for them!  I'm very proud of our menu.

  • We were originally supposed to get married in New Orleans in May but because we decided to buy and renovate a house, we are getting married closer to home in June. We decided to do a catered Southern BBQ as a nod to our planned southern wedding!
