Some of my DIY Projects (PIP)

I am not the creative, crafty type by any means, so I'm pretty proud of the work done so far. I don't have pics of everything that I've done, but I thought I'd post a few!

Ceremony Sand kit and Card Box:

Memorial Candle: I took bits of different sayings on other memorial candles and printed on vellum, adhered with glue dots and added ribbon for accents.

Our wishing tree. We have an engraveable frame for our guest book, but this is for those who want to add a longer message or another wish for us.

2 arrangements that will be up in the front of the ceremony space placed on columns:

Cake topper we ordered from Crafty Eddy that I painted and added rhinestone accents to.

Spray painted wood letters that will go on either our cake table or candy buffet

  • yup! I took these with my phone, so the colors are off, though. I dyed the filters with tea to obtain sepia tone and with food color + water to get the pale green and green/blue shades. they don't come out as much in these pics, but you'll get the idea.

the pomanders sort of play off the colours and feel of my bouquet.

Oh, awesome! I love that! I want to  try that now :) It seems like every time I come across something I like when surfing the internet, I just wanna try it. I guess I'm not sure how/where I'd incorporate those into my wedding though. :(

  • I will use these to line the aisle. they will hang on the sides of the chairs. and then when that is done, they will be brought inside and used at random spots (gift table etc.)

These were fairly simple to make. The longest process was to dye the liners. And most people use 3in balls, but I picked up smaller ones at meijer the other day. it seemed to me that otherwise they would turn out HUGE. and I was right about that. I think mine are 1 and 3/4 of an inch or so. And they came in a set of 12 for only $5 total. I did have to bend the filters down a little too to make them shorter, though.
oh, good job me... i just made this sound so complicated :D

  • Great job!! I think we have the same card basket except I'm using mine for programs:) I love what you did with the floral arrangements! Do they say pretty balanced. I also love the wishing tree. The swirly sticks (sorry don't knwo the correct term) are what we are using in our centerpieces along with silver branches! I may 'borrow' you idea for the wishing tree.

Will you have guest place the wishes in the tree? How will it work? TIA!!!

Elizabeth: Thanks so much! The floral arrangements are very sturdy. My MOH/FSIL and I put them together at Hobby Lobby and found these gorgeous vases, but they were selling for $35 each. Luckily, I found the same style/color on save-on-crafts for $6.50! (Clicky)

My wishing tree is made up of gold curly willow that I found at 50% at Hobby Lobby mixed in with some lighted branches I got from save-on-crafts also. For the wish tags, I used Vista Prints 250 free business cards and changed the wording, then hole punched and threaded ribbon through. The tree holds up nicely with tags hanging on it. We're going to leave the ribbons "untied" to allow the guests to tie them wherever they choose. HTH!
